Sportscaster Skip Bayless controversially theorizes Caitlin Clark’s real injury status is hidden to maintain WNBA viewership. Since the Indiana Fever has refused to share a return timeline behind her recovery, Bayless thinks that the star player is already out for the season.

Skip Bayless said, “Is it possible that this time, she tore her groin so badly that she’s already been privately ruled out for the rest of the season, yet the league wants to keep the media and the fans in the dark about this so that people keep tuning in, figuring, ‘Oh, she’ll be back soon. Is that what’s going on? Maybe.”

Fever Hides Caitlin Clark Injury Details

The remarks made by Skip Bayless do have a point, as the Fever management has not set any return timeline for Caitlin Clark. Normally, this is not the case with the star players. The coach, staff, and other players have remained mum on Clark’s injury.

There also remains a motive behind why the league and the Indiana Fever would want the injury to remain a secret. Caitlin Clark boosts WNBA arena attendance and television ratings significantly.

Any news of Clark being out of the season is likely to negatively impact the viewership and ticket sales of WNBA matches. However, other reports suggest that the 23-year-old might soon start training and could make a return by the end of this month.
