Shaquille O’Neal Warns Robert Griffin III for Constant Criticism of WNBA Star Angel Reese

NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal has released a stern warning to former NFL star Robert Griffin III regarding his constant criticism of WNBA star Angel Reese. O’Neal warned Griffin to stop posting commentary about Chicago Sky’s Reese and didn’t hold back in clarifying what might happen if he didn’t. The Hall of Famer said that he would ‘punch’ him if he didn’t stop disrespecting Bayou Barbie.

The four-time NBA Champion didn’t hold himself back and slammed Griffin saying, “Tweet another monkey post about my girl Angel Reese and I’m gonna punch you in your f**king face. It’s enough. I don’t usually do stuff like this, but stop it, bro. You got your job, you got your podcast. Leave my Angel Reese alone. I’m the one calling her and telling her not to respond. F**king stop it. That’s the last time.”

Shaq continued, “Leave [Angel Reese] alone. You already spoke on it. Let it go. So what? [She] hates her. So f-cking what? I hate you now for messing with her. Now what? Say something about me. [Angel] is not soft, by any means. She’s from the streets. But I’m like, ‘You’re beautiful, don’t indulge with these fools.’ Because he’s a fool.”

Notably, Reese is one of the finest stars in the WNBA. However, off late, she has been making more headlines due to her rivalry with the Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark. The former Washington Commanders player condemned racism towards Reese but also criticized her for the rivalry with Clark. A week ago, he took to X and depicted the Sky player as a monkey.

Alright. This has got to stop. There is no place for racism in this world. Whether you like a player or not. Angel Reese should never be called or depicted as a Monkey.

This is not it, on his podcast “Outta Pocket”, the 35-year-old went on to say that a few people from Reese’s inner circle allegedly confirmed that she hates Clark.

Is Angel Reese’s WNBA 2025 All-Star Participation in Jeopardy?

While on one end legends like Shaquille O’Neal have come in defense of Reese, the 23-year-old is suffering from a leg injury, putting her WNBA All-Star Game in jeopardy. Notably, Reese was ruled out of the Chicago Sky’s final game before the All-Star break but it is not clear when or how she sustained the injury. In the game against the Minnesota Lynx, Reese played 37 minutes and tallied 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Reese’s injury comes at a crucial point as she is slated to suit up for team Collier during the WNBA All-Star Game this weekend. Napheesa Collier’s team will lock horns with Caitlin Clark’s team, Team Clark in Indianapolis, Indiana. Talking about Reese, she was selected to her second All-Star team in second WNBA season. She is currently leading league’s charts in rebounds, and averaging 14 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.

If there is no improvement in her injury, the league would come up with her replacement in due time.
