Shai Gilgeous-Alexander equals Russell Westbrook’s OKC Thunder record in another 50-point outburst

Shai has dropped four 50-point performances in his last 19 games.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is delivering a MVP-level performance for OKC Thunder and Monday was another chapter in his career-best season. The Thunder star dropped another 50-point performance to set a franchise history.

After reaching 50 points, SGA didn’t express much as it’s just a routine performance for him. the MVP contender has tied the franchise record for multiple 50-point games in a single season. He joined Thunder legend Russell Westbrook to set a franchise history.

Shai has dropped four 50-point performances in his last 19 games. With his 50-point outburst, Oklahoma City won their 50th regular-season game in 2024-25. Thunder joined Cleveland Cavaliers to record 50 wins this season.

Gilgeous-Alexander tallied 51 points, seven assists, five rebounds, one steal and one block on Monday. He shot 18 of 30 from the field including 5-of-9 on three-point attempts. Thunder star made all 10 of his free throws.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is currently leading the NBA in 20-point, 30-point, 40-point and 50-point games. He is now the frontrunner to claim the NBA MVP award for season 2024-25.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is also the 12th player in NBA history with at least four 50-point games in a season. The Thunder are 3-1 when Shai scores at least 50 points. He also became the only player to record multiple 50-point performance this season.

“It becomes — you can say it’s not as exciting as the first one, but it’s more like getting lost in the process of just competing and playing the game you love,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “And then wherever that takes you, it takes you.”

“Whether it’s 50, whether it’s 27, whether it’s 17 — as long as we win, I have fun with it,” he said. “It’s a fun night.”
