Serbia's Upcoming Fixtures, Squad Updates & Key Absences Ahead of Crucial Matches.
Serbia have struggled in their Nations League Group Stage games. In a group consisting of Spain, Switzerland, and Denmark, they could only secure a single win in six matches against. Even then they managed to avoid automatic relegation as they finished four points ahead of Switzerland in fourth place.
They ended the group stage in third place, two points behind Denmark, while Spain comfortably topped the group. Their only win came against Switzerland back in October by a 2-0 margin. However, their overall form remains concerning, as that was the only win in their last nine matches.

This poor form extends to their away form as well. Even though head coach Dragan Stojkovic extended his contract only last year, there have been doubts about his future in the position in the midst of the Serbia team’s recent struggles. If he fails to maintain their League A status in the Nations League by losing both matches, that could lead to a managerial change.

Serbia will miss their key striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has been going through some health concerns in the last few months. Similarly, Ivan Ilic is suffering from an illness and Milos Veljkovic is recovering from an injury. Serbia will also miss both of them along with Nemanja Gudelj whose availability is still a doubt.
To add more to their woes, they will be missing Nikola Milenkovic, Strahinja Pavlovic, Andrija Zivkovic, and Aleksa Terzic as all of them will serve suspensions. Because of so many players’ absences, coach Stojkovic has called up Zenit Saint Petersburg’s Ognjen Mimovic and FK Cukaricki forward Mihajlo Cvetkovic. Both of them could make their international debuts against Austria.
