Seattle Storm vs New York Liberty Lineups, Sneak Peek

Storm: Finally, justifying the roster firepower

The Storm comes into this game after a strong 90-83 win against the Las Vegas Aces as Nneka Ogwumike rose for a 26-point outing. The Storm allowed Aces to shoot 47.5% FG while shooting 46.5% FG.

Seattle forced five more turnovers and plucked five extra offensive rebounds, giving them ten extra attempts (4 more makes). It was their second straight win and fifth in six games.

Their winning run includes a victory over the league-best Minnesota Lynx, indicating they are on the right track. The trio of Skylar Diggins, Gabby Williams, and Ogwumike is finally living up to their two-way potential.

Williams has been a huge all-around player, as indicated by her 8-steal performance against the LA Sparks. Erica Wheeler has also been a big factor in one of the best balanced lineups.

New York Liberty: Can they overcome a minor hitch

The Liberty enters the match after a heartbreaking 81-89 loss against the Phoenix Mercury despite a herculean 35-point outburst by Breanna Stewart. The Liberty committed six more turnovers and allowed nine extra offensive rebounds (15-6), giving Mercury a chance to put in four more field goals.

Not only did they lose the match, but they also lost their superstar, Jonquel Jones. Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu have been terrific all season long, but JJ is what completes the championship core.

Natasha Cloud will need to step up her scoring as she has cooled down after a hot start. Apart from that, Nyara Sabally and Kennedy Burke will need to up their game, too. Overall, the Liberty has a big problem on its hands, but its experience will surely help them to overcome it.

Liberty Expected Starting Lineup

PG: Sabrina Ionescu | PG: Natasha Cloud | SF: Kennedy Burke | PF: Breanna Stewart | C:  Nyara Sabally

Key bench players: PG: Marine Johannes, PF: Isabelle Harrison, SG/SF: Rebekah Gardner

Injuries/Updates: Jonquel Jones is OUT for at least four weeks.

Storm Expected Starting Lineup

PG: Skylar Diggins | PG: Erica Wheeler | SF: Gabby Williams | PF: Nneka Ogwumike | C: Ezi Magbebor

Key bench players: SF: Alysha Clark

Injuries/Updates: Katie Lou Samuelson remains OUT

Seattle Storm vs New York Liberty Total Over/Under Prediction- WNBA Best Bets

The Storm has been one of the best offensive teams lately. Seattle has scored 89 or more in four of the last five games. Meanwhile, the Liberty has the chops to score 85+ even without Jonquel Jones.

On the other hand, the Storm is capable of restricting oppositions under 80, while the Liberty is also one of the best defenses in the league. Overall, this can be a high-scoring battle.

Total: Over 165.5 for -110 at BetMGM

Seattle Storm vs New York Liberty Player Props Predictions- WNBA Betting Picks

Breanna Stewart 22.5 points: Stewart scored an emphatic 35 in her last match and is averaging an impressive 21.1 PPG currently. I expect her to score at least 23 points against her former team.

Erica Wheeler O 12.5 points: Wheeler has been promoted from a sixth player to a starter because of her high yield. The guard has averaged 11.2 PPG, scoring 15 or more in three of the last four games. I expect her to score at least 13 here.

Sabrina Ionescu O 3.5 three-pointers: Ionescu is up-and-down with her long-range shot. She has averaged 2.8 triples per game, nailing 4 or more threes in five of the last eight games. I believe she will make at least 4 again.

Main pick: Breanna Stewart Over 22.5 points at BetMGM

Seattle Storm vs New York Liberty Spread Prediction

The Liberty is a force even without JJ, who is their ultimate piece to the championship puzzle. On the other hand, the Storm are becoming a menace as they have shown the ability to beat even elite teams.

This can be a dogfight considering Liberty’s feisty nature and Storm’s current form. The Liberty has the projected Money Line in their favor, but I back Seattle to prevail here.
