Las Vegas Aces vs Seattle Storm WNBA Playoffs Game 1 Prediction & Best Bets – 09/14/2025

Garima Ranawat

The Aces are 2-2 against the Storm this WNBA season!

On Sunday, September 14, the Las Vegas Aces will host the Seattle Storm for Game 1 of their opening-round 2025 WNBA playoffs series. The Aces after finishing with a 30-14 record occupied the second spot in standings. The Storm, on the other hand, registered 23 wins and 21 losses, which put them in the seventh position.

Las Vegas ended its campaign on a season-best 16-game winning streak, having defeated Los Angeles Sparks in a blowout fashion in the last regular-season game. Having qualified for the playoffs for seven consecutive seasons, they are seeking their third WNBA championship in the last four years.

Seattle, on the other hand, began the season with a defeat, before winning three back-to-back games. They couldn’t keep up the momentum and had a roller-coaster ride throughout the season. However, Becky Hammon’s side managed to stay afloat and paved their way through to the playoffs for the second consecutive year. They are seeking their fifth championship this season, first since 2021.

In their last regular season matchup, the Storm escaped the Golden State Valkyries narrowly and finished seventh, while the Valkyries had to settle for the eighth spot.

Would the Aces be able to continue their hot-form in the postseason or the Storm would pull off an upset? Check out the predictions for player props, totals, and spread below.

Las Vegas Aces vs Seattle Storm Lineups, News, Form

Las Vegas Aces

The Las Vegas Aces kicked off the season with a loss to the New York Liberty. Though they didn’t take long to bounce back, the Aces could keep up with the momentum for only the next two games. In the first ten games of the season, they were 5-5.

Following a curvy mid-season, the Aces got into their red-hot form, and won back-to-back games to finish the season 16-0. They played like true champions towards the end of the season, coming off as a threat to even toppers, the Minnesota Lynx. Here are a few stats and facts about them:

  • A’ja Wilson broke the record for most 30-point games in a season with 13.
  • She was limited to single digit performance only twice this season.
  • The Aces reached the 30-win mark for the second time in franchise history.

Las Vegas Aces Expected Starting Lineup

A’ja Wilson (C), Aaliyah Nye (F), NaLyssa Smith (F), Jackie Young G), Chelsea Gray (G)
Key Bench Players: Jewell Loyd, Dana Evans
Injuries: Kierstan Bell- QUESTIONABLE (Leg)

Seattle Storm

Seattle Storm, the four-time WNBA champions, seemed to haven’t been able to make it to the Finals in the last four seasons, let alone a trophy. They began the season on a sketchy note and weren’t really able to enjoy success much. Though a 10-12 home record and 13-9 record on the road guided them to a playoff berth, it was indeed a challenging season for them.

The Storm suffered six back-to-back losses last month, putting their playoff hopes in jeopardy. Here are some facts and stats about the Strom-

  • Nneka Ogwumike recorded 20 20+ point games.
  • On five occasions, Skylar Diggins dished out 10+ assists.
  • Ogwumike grabbed 5+ rebounds in five of the last seven games.

Seattle Storm Expected Starting Lineup

Brittney Sykes (G), Skylar Diggins (G), Ezi Magbegor (C ), Nneka Ogwumike (F), Gabby Williams (F)
Key Bench Players- Dominique Malonga, Erica Wheeler
Injuries- Katie Lou Samuelson (OUT) All others are available
Las Vegas Aces vs Seattle Storm Total Over/ Under Prediction- WNBA Best Bets

The Las Vegas Aces’ offense is going full throttle averaging 83.6 points per game. Their defense is even better, allowing just 80.7 points per game. They maintained a solid 17-5 record at home, while tying with the Storm for a 13-9 record on the road. Both teams came against each other on four occasions this season, splitting four games.

In those four games, there were three occasions when they scored around 160-165 points. Considering the Aces’ offense but Seattle’s improved defense, it is expected to be a tight game.

Las Vegas Aces vs Seattle Storm Player Props Predictions-WNBA Betting Picks

A’ja Wilson O 24.5 Points- A’ja Wilson has been unstoppable this season. The MVP favorite averaged 23.4 points this season and finished six consecutive games with 20+ points. With the home crowd rooting for her, she would aim for another big night.

Nneka Ogwumike O 7.5 Rebounds- Ogwumike has grabbed 7.0 rebounds on an average this season. In the last five games, she recorded more than seven rebounds on four occasions. On Sunday, she is primed to bring out her best performance.

Chelsea Gray O 5.5 Assists- Gray has averaged 5.4 assists per game this season. Four out of five last games, she managed to reach the five-assists mark. I expect her to put on the same kind of show on Sunday.

Main Pick: A’ja Wilson O 24.5 Points for -125 at BetMGM

Las Vegas Aces vs Seattle Storm Spread Prediction

The Aces enter the playoffs as heavy favorites with a 16-game winning streak as well as home-court advantage. They were 3-1 against the Storm this season. The Storm, though managed to clinch a playoff spot, but they were inconsistent throughout the season, with struggling games on the road. Despite having a healthy roster, the Aces are expected to pull off the playoffs with an easy win over the Storm.

Spread/Money Line Pick: Aces -5.5 for -115 at BetMGM
