Sami Zayn Defeats Solo Sikoa to Become The New WWE United States Champion, New Title Reign Begins

Sami Zayn defeated all odds tonight to beat Solo Sikoa and become the new WWE United States Champion in Lyon, France. Sami Zayn ended Solo Sikoa’s 64-day title reign as the United States Champion. With this victory, Sami Zayn got his revenge on Solo Sikoa for costing him the World Heavyweight title contendership.

Solo Sikoa defeated Jacob Fatu with the help of Tala Tonga, Tama Tonga, and JC Mateo to become the US Champion. All odds were stacked against Sami Zayn as he not only had to face Solo Sikoa inside the ring but Tala Tonga, Tama Tonga, and JC Mateo outside the ring as well. Jimmy Uso entered the ring side to even the odds, and Jacob Fatu followed. They were able to drive Solo Sikoa’s MFTs off the ringside.

Sami Zayn Receives Much-Needed in a Hard-Fought Match

Solo Sikoa was still a hard opponent to beat as he hit Sami Zayn with a Spinning Solo on the announcer’s table. He tried to defeat Sami Zayn with a countout, but Sami Zayn somehow broke the count. Solo Sikoa again hit three Spinning Solo to Sami Zayn over the announcer’s table, but Sami still was able to break the count.

The battle intensified, and while Solo Sikoa delivered a Samoan Drop to Sami Zayn, the latter, too, delivered Two Blue Thunderbomb and an Exploder to Solo Sikoa. Solo Sikoa kicked out of all these moves. Sami Zayn had just one advantage, and that was the crowd behind him who were chanting his name and appreciating his every move.

Sami Zayn countered two Samoan Spike and delivered two Helluva Kicks to put an end to Solo Sikoa’s reign as a WWE United States Champion. The crowd erupted the moment Sami Zayn secured the pinfall. This is Sami Zayn’s third victory over Solo Sikoa in as many matches. This is also Sami Zayn’s first WWE United States Championship victory.
