Roman Reigns has achieved it all in the WWE. He is notable for his most recent reign as the Undisputed WWE as the Undisputed WWE Champion for 1,316 days. He has become a Grand Slam Champion for the Stamford based company.

Roman Reigns has more recently been juggling both his WWE and Hollywood career at the same time. He has more recently been in talks to star as a major character in an upcoming movie based on a video game series. Let’s see what movie and which character Roman Reigns is in talks to star as.

Roman Reigns Apparently Will Be Portraying “Akuma” in the Street Fighter Movie

Roman Reigns has been in talks for starring as Akuma in the upcoming live-action Street Fighter movie from Legendary. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has confirmed his role as per reports. WrestlingWorld CC also put this as their official Instagram post. The movie is based on Capcom’s video game series of the same name. Kitao Sakurai became the movie’s director in February 2025. Moreover, Capcom will be co-developing and co-producing the movie based on Deadline.

Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo are also apparently in talks for the movie. Andrew Koji will reportedly be Ryu. Noah Centineo will reportedly play Ken Masters. Ryu and Ken Masters are the two main heroes of the game series. Jason Momoa will also reportedly star in the movie, although his role has not been revealed as per reports.

Roman Reign’s character, Akuma is known to be one of the most loved characters of the Street Fighter series. Akuma is the younger brother of Gouken, the master of Ryu and Ken Masters in the games. He was first introduced in Street Fighter II Turbo. He was originally an antagonist but the fans’ love for the character has made him an anti-hero. Akuma is an enemy of M.Bison, the main villain of the games. However, he is also an enemy of Ryu and Ken, the protagonists. The character is usually cold, emotionless and uncaring. However, he also has a strong sense of honor and is a noble warrior. He constantly seeks out worthy opponents to test himself and bring his fighting skills to the highest level. Akuma also considers Ryu to be a worthy opponent and respects him despite being enemies in the games.

Roman Reigns Also Has Another Hollywood Movie in the Pipeline

Roman Reigns is no longer a stranger to Hollywood. His acting debut happened in the movie Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019). He starred alongside Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Vanessa Kirby and Idris Elba in the movie. Reigns will also be starring in the upcoming comedy film “Good Fortune” alongside Keanu Reeves, Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen and Keke Palmer.

Roman Reigns has started his Hollywood journey like many other former WWE stars like The Rock, John Cena and Batista. His version of Akuma will be interesting to watch if he is confirmed for the role. The WWE Universe is also awaiting his return to the ring since his last appearance on the Raw after WrestleMania 41.
