The latest El Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu had everything. Starting with goals, drama, VAR controversies, it eventually ended with a full-blown brawl that overshadowed the intense game itself. Real Madrid edged their fierce rivals 2-1.

However, tempers spiraled completely out of control after the final whistle. It turned the night into one of the most chaotic Clasicos in recent memory. Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring for Real Madrid after a clever assist from Jude Bellingham, before Fermin Lopez equalised for Barcelona midway through the first half.

Just before the break, Bellingham struck again to restore Madrid’s lead. They had three goals being ruled out and a missed penalty in the second half. Even so, Los Blancos held firm to claim all three points and extend their lead at the top of La Liga to five. But the true story unfolded in the dying moments of the match.

Vinicius Junior and Lamine Yamal Spark Post-Match Chaos

When Pedri fouled Tchouameni in the dying moments of the match and saw a second yellow card, tension that had been simmering throughout erupted spectacularly. Vinicius Junior exchanged words with Ferran Torres. It then led to a heated confrontation. It drew in players, substitutes, and even coaching staff from both teams.

Security personnel, match officials, and even police rushed in as the benches emptied onto the pitch. Everyone tried to separate the two groups amid a chorus of jeers from the stands. The fight reportedly began when Dani Carvajal confronted Lamine Yamal over his pre-match comments about Madrid “robbing and complaining.”

Yamal, who had been pretty quiet and one of the worst performers of the day, retaliated by shouting back. Soon, Vinicius Jr got involved, attempting to confront the youngster near the tunnel. The Brazilian had already been in a touchline scuffle earlier in the match and had to be restrained again by teammates and staff.

Who Were Booked and What Punishment is Awaiting?

The late-game meltdown saw several players booked. Real Madrid’s Vinicius, Eder Militao, and Rodrygo all saw cards. Barcelona’s Pedri had already been sent off moments earlier for a rash challenge on Aurelien Tchouameni. Real’s backup goalkeeper Andriy Lunin was shown a straight red for his role in the melee despite never stepping onto the pitch.

Post-match, Madrid coach Xabi Alonso dismissed the incident as “a reflection of the intensity and importance of the game.” However, Aurelien Tchouameni admitted that Yamal’s remarks had rather ‘motivated’ the squad. Still, both clubs now await disciplinary reviews, as Spanish football authorities will assess what punishments are to come.
