On March 29th, 2025, UFC is headed back to Mexico City for an exciting fight night at Arena CDMX, featuring a bantamweight clash between Raul Rosas Jr. and Vince Morales. This matchup will certainly light up the octagon as part of a stacked card which is headlined by Moreno vs Erceg.

Rosas Jr. is a young star with a bright future who has the chance to step into the octagon and impress his home crowd. Rosas Jr. has only lost once in his MMA career so far and is looking to add more to his win column. Meanwhile for Morales, he’s a seasoned fighter who has seen it all, from fighting in the UFC to fighting in other leagues. It’s been a rollercoaster of a career for him and we’ll see if he has what it takes to beat somebody like Rosas Jr.

Vince Morales’ MMA Journey

On May 15th, 2015, Morales made his MMA debut against Joseph Cleveland and he won the fight via submission. Right after his MMA debut, Morales mostly competed in the Idaho’s regional MMA circuit and fought in various competitions including King of the Cage and Front Street fights where he won the featherweight belt before joining the UFC in 2018.

His first stint with the UFC lasted from 2018-2022 where he went 3-5 in those years. His lack of success in the UFC was the reason why he was released. However, he was determined to continue fighting and he reinvented himself outside the octagon, going 5-0 which includes four finishes and he also ended up winning the UFL bantamweight title in 2024. Since his return to the UFC in 2024, he’s lost back-to-back fights and hasn’t been able to translate his UFL success in the UFC. Both of his losses came via decisions, but Morales is still determined to make a name for himself in the octagon.

Raul Rosas Jr.’s MMA Journey

Rosas turned pro at the age of 17 and is the youngest fighter to sign a contract in UFC history. Rosas defeated Mando Guitierrez in Dana White’s contender series, which earned him a contract. Making his UFC debut on December of 2022, Rosas submitted Jay Perrin in the first round. He has finished 8 of his fights so far and has showcased his elite grappling skills. At the age of 20, he’s looked at as the prodigy in the bantamweight division and is once again the favorite to win at Mexico.
