Quinn Ewers NFL Draft Projection – Where Will  Texas Longhorns QB Land?

The Playoffs News Team

Breaking down Quinn Ewers’ NFL Draft outlook after his college career at Texas.

Quinn Ewers, a quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, declared for the 2025 NFL Draft in January. A native of San Antonio, Texas, Ewers starred at Carroll Senior High School, where he also played baseball. As a sophomore, he completed 291 of 402 passes for 3,998 yards, 45 touchdowns, and just three interceptions. The former No. 1 overall recruit in the 2021 class, according to 247Sports, committed to Ohio State.

However, Ewers enrolled late, missing most of summer camp, and was listed below C.J. Stroud and Kyle McCord. He took just two snaps during the season before transferring to the University of Texas. In his sophomore season with the Longhorns, he completed 272 of 394 passes for a career-high 3,479 yards and 22 touchdowns, earning Big 12 Championship MVP honors and a second-team All-Big 12 selection.

Ewers followed up with a breakout season, completing 293 of 445 passes for 3,472 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions to earn second-team All-SEC honors. Across three seasons as Texas’ starter, Ewers posted a 27–9 record and led the Longhorns to two College Football Playoff appearances.

Quinn Ewers’ Draft Profile

Ewers profiles as a backup with starting potential, possessing enough traits to eventually manage an NFL offense. However, his limited arm strength and spotty accuracy beyond 10 yards could constrain a team’s passing attack and make it harder to stress defenses vertically. Once regarded as the nation’s top prospect, Ewers may ultimately settle as a quality backup capable of keeping a team afloat if pressed into action.

Quinn Ewers’ Draft Projection

Quinn Ewers is projected as a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, according to The Athletic, the projections were that he’ll be the #82 pick by the Seattle Seahawks, while TSN projected him as #93 to the New Orleans Saints. CBS Sports adds more to his NFL landing spots by including the Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders.
