The top-seeded Qinwen Zheng will take on the newly-crowned British No. 1 Emma Raducanu in the highly-anticipated quarterfinal clash in the 2025 WTA Queen’s Club Championship. The world No. 5 got better of McCartney Kessler in three-set thriller to kick off her campaign, while Raducanu dispatched Rebecca Sramkova in R16 to take the quarterfinal ticket.

Qinwen Zheng pulled off a great comeback in the round of 16 after going 1-4 down in the final set against Kessler. The Chinese ace has struggled on grass court, posting an underwhelming 4-8 career record. Meanwhile, she has maintained her impressive run on other courts. She made into semifinals in Rome Masters and reached quarterfinals in the Roland Garros.

This is her first career grass quarterfinal which narrates her struggling story on this surface. Her record in the quarterfinals is not good as the world No. 5 lost four out of five QF encounters this season. She has improved her season run from Indian Wells and recorded 16 wins so far. Emma Raducanu reached the quarterfinals after two straight-set wins over Bucsa and Sramkova. Raducanu is the only British player in the quarterfinal round as her doubles partners, Katie Boulter lost her R16 game. The duo also lost their doubles game against the top-seeded pair. However, Boulter’s defeat helped Raducanu to become the No. 1 British player in the WTA rankings.

The British ace has a 15-11 career record on grass and played three quarterfinals in UK, including Nottingham, Eastbourne, Queen’s. She is yet to break the jinx of quarterfinals since Nottingham 2024. She has dropped her previous four quarterfinals. Before winning the round of 16 tie, Raducanu didn’t win consecutive games in eight of her last 10 competition but she ended the streak at home. So, he can expect a similar result in her quarterfinal dilemma.

Zheng has been consistent performer in the WTA competitions but her grass-court form remains a question. In previous, she failed to tackle Kessler and survived through late comeback.
