2025 Wimbledon Prize Money increased to £53.5 million, a hike of 7 percent from 2024

It will be the 138th edition of the Wimbledon Championships.

The 2025 edition of the Wimbledon tournament will start from June 30 and there is a massive update to its prize money. Wimbledon’s prize money has risen to a record 53.5 million pounds, All England Club officials announced on Thursday. It will be a hike of 7% from the previous year’s prize money.

The total amount has been increased to 3.5 million pounds ($6.8 million) more than last year. In last ten years, the prize has been doubled in the grass-court Grand Slam. It will be the 138th edition of the Wimbledon Championships. For the first time ever in the Wimbledon Championship’s history, line judges will be replaced with automated Electronic line judges. Now, he championship got a financial boost with a 7% hike.

2025 Wimbledon Championship Gets Big Financial Boost, Prize Gets Doubled in 10 Years

All England Club officials has announced a record-breaking prize money pool ahead of the 2025 edition. “The focus on just the prize money at four events, the Grand Slams, does not get to the heart of what the challenge is for tennis,” Jevans added.

“The challenge with tennis is the fact that the players don’t have an offseason which they want, they have increasing injuries that they’re speaking about, and we’ve always said that we as Wimbledon are willing to engage and talk with the tours to try and find solutions, and that door remains open.”

Players who will reach the first round will get 66,000 pounds, up 10% year on year. The prize will get better with her performance in the competition. Here’s the complete breakdown of the 2025 Wimbledon prize pool for both men’s and women’s singles:

“We’re immensely proud of the fact that if you look back 10 years, you can see the increase over that period and 7% this year,” All England chair Deborah Jevans said. “And we have listened to the players, we have engaged with the players.”

The singles winners will get three million pounds ($4.07 million) each which is the highest among all Grand Slams. It’s 11.1 per cent more than the previous year’s Wimbledon event. Carlos Alcaraz and Barbora Krejcikova are the reigning winners in the men’s and women’s singles respectively.
