Wolves vs West Ham United Premier League Fixture – Injury News, Match Preview and Predicted Line-Ups

Moumita Dutta

West Ham come into this match after a 1-1 draw against Everton before the international break.

Wolves and West Ham will lock horns in a battle to avoid relegation on Tuesday at Molineux. West Ham United are sitting in 16th place with 34 points, while Wolverhampton Wanderers are in 17th place with 26 points. They maintain a nine-point gap over 18th-placed Ipswich Town and 19th-placed Leicester City.

West Ham come into this match after a 1-1 draw against Everton before the international break. While, Wolves registered a 2-1 win against Southampton in their last match. Even with the win, Wolves were statistically outperformed in that match.

Wolves have scored in every one of their last eight outings. However, the problem lies in the team conceding first in some cases. If they lose against West Ham on Tuesday, Ipswich could close the gap on them. The gap will come down to just three points before the teams face off on April 5.

Meanwhile, West Ham were denied victory against Everton because of a late equalizer. Their scoring struggles persist, but they have been strong defending. They’ve conceded only twice in their last four matches. They have records in their favour, having beaten Wolves in their last three encounters, including a 2-1 win in December in the Premier League.

Wolves will miss Matheus Cunha, who will keep serving suspension. Whereas, attackers Sasa Kalajdzic, Leon Chiwome, and Enso Gonzalez will also remain unavailable because of their respective injuries. Long-term injury – Yerson Mosquera remains sidelined till August.

Hence, the trio in the final third that started the match in their win against Southampton – Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Marshall Munetsi, and Jorgen Strand Larsen – should retain their places. At the back, Toti Gomes, Emmanuel Agbadou, and Matt Doherty should start. The midfield should still feature Joao Gomes and Andre.

Wolves probable starting lineup:

Sa; T Gomes, Agbadou, Doherty; Nouri, Andre, J Gomes, Semedo; Bellegarde, Munetsi; Larsen

West Ham Injury News

Strikers Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio and winger Crysencio Summerville are still recovering from their respective injuries. As a result, coach Graham Potter could deploy Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus as a makeshift strike duo. They should be supported by midfielders Tomas Soucek, James Ward-Prowse, and Lucas Paqueta.

At the back, the Hammers will rely on Max Kilman, Konstantinos Mavropanos, and Jean-Clair Todibo. Alphonse Areola should start the match under the bar. Given their recent solid defensive performances, Potter will hope his side can maintain their structure while the front line improve on their work.

West Ham probable starting lineup:

Areola; Kilman, Mavropanos, Todibo; Emerson, Soucek, Ward-Prowse, Paqueta, Wan-Bissaka; Bowen, Kudus
