Paul Heyman pulls the ultimate ‘Double Heel Turn’ at WrestleMania 41 Night 1 – What will be the consequences?

Seth Rollins is the new Paul Heyman's guy.

WWE has crossed all levels of unpredictability on Day 1 of WrestleMania. CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns, three of the biggest names in WWE, met in the most uncertain match of all time. Three generations of superstars held so much hatred for each other that none of them wanted to give out. They went through 40 minutes of sheer brutality, from physical torture to mental betrayal.

The triple threat match, the history of which was paved with the return of CM Punk to WWE. The seeds for this rivalry were sown with a favor at the 2024 Survivor Series. The rivalry intensified at the 2025 Royal Rumble. These three went on an all-out war against each other after the events of Elimination Chamber and Madison Square Garden.

CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns were previously fighting for dominance in WWE and to prove who’s the best in the world. The reason was later switched to Paul Heyman. The reason changed, but the rivalry remained the same. CM Punk asked Paul Heyman to be at his corner at WrestleMania to repay the favor, which the latter accepted. Seth Rollins got two opportunities to eliminate Paul Heyman, but he didn’t.

Paul Heyman, the ultimate opportunist, showed why he is desired by most Wrestlers by his side when he turned heel on both CM Punk and Roman Reigns. A moment that shocked the entire WWE Universe, along with CM Punk and Roman Reigns. He turned the entire match 180 degrees on its head and gave Seth Rollins a victory at WrestleMania’s Main event against opponents like Roman Reigns and CM Punk.

CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns fought in the most brutal match of all time. They were able to withstand so much brutality and still compete shows why they are the best in business. They battled both inside and outside the ring, hit each other with trash cans, received Powerbombs through the table, and chair shots to the back, but still were able to kick out. It took stabbing in the back to break them mentally.

CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns were able to withstand physical punishment, but they are humans. Paul Heyman first gave the chair to CM Punk, making everyone believe he betrayed Roman Reigns. He then delivered a Low Blow to CM Punk and gave the chair to Roman Reigns. Just when everyone thought The OTC and Wiseman had united, Paul Heyman delivered another low blow, this time to Roman Reigns and joined Seth Rollins.

Why did Paul Heyman betray Roman Reigns and CM Punk?

Paul Heyman gave the chair to Seth Rollins, who delivered a chair shot to Roman Reigns, followed by a curb stomp to win the match. Paul Heyman has always been the person who sides with the strongest person in the room. It was CM Punk in the beginning, but soon he betrayed him and joined Brock Lesnar. He then betrayed Brock Lesnar and joined Roman Reigns as the wiseman.

The hint of Paul Heyman turning heel was apparent when he gave a crooked smile on Seth Rollins’ promo at SmackDown. Seth Rollins, in his promo, told Roman Reigns that he would do what’s best for business, hinting at siding with the Rock and John Cena. If that’s even remotely true, Paul Heyman sensed the opportunity to side with the powerful Final Boss. This might be the reason he joined Seth Rollins at WrestleMania.

There are consequences of your actions. CM Punk and Roman Reigns, both being betrayed, might ally to hunt Paul Heyman down.
