Patrick Mahomes’ Pursuit Of A 3-Peat Comparable To Michael Jordan And Tiger Woods

After the Chiefs’ win against the Buffalo Bills, the chances of them three-peating as champions is very high. The NFL fans know it, the media knows it, and everybody else who watches football knows it. The Chiefs have been so dominating for the past three seasons, that it’s almost boring to watch them. Win after win after win, there’s no slowing this team down. Even though the Bills were close to beating the Chiefs, being close, isn’t going to cut it.

Now, the Chiefs are back in the Super Bowl and could become the first team in NFL history to win their third consecutive title. The Chiefs have looked unstoppable and look like the dynasty that the New England Patriots were, sometime back.

Remember how everybody hated the Patriots? Now the Chiefs have surely taken that place. Why the hate you ask? It’s because of all the winning. As foolish as that sounds, even when we switch sports and talk about the NBA, everybody hated the 2017-19 Warriors too. Nobody likes a team/player/coach, winning that many times.

Why was Mahomes compared to the Likes of Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods?

In the Colin Cowherd Podcast, Cowherd compared Mahomes to the likes of Jordan and Woods simply because when it’s go-time, these three are nearly unbeatable. Cowherd compares how Mahomes, Jordan, and Woods, could all elevate their games. Whether it is in the playoffs or when it really mattered. Cowherd also explains how all three of the players were wearing color red, at the most important games, for these players.

Cowherd emphasized further on his Mahomes and Jordan comparison. He talked about how both of the players elevate their games to gears that are untouchable. For Jordan that switch came by May and June and for Mahomes, it’s January and February.

Which teams, across all of the American Sports, have three-peated?

There are only certain teams that have three peated in the last 50 years and they are;=:

The Chicago Bulls: They three-peated two times from 1991 to 1998. Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen led the Bulls to six championships in a span of just 7 years. In fact, the Bulls could have won 7 or 8 straight, had Jordan not retired in the middle of his prime. However, his six championships is still something that even the likes of Lebron James, Stephen Curry, Kobe Bryant, or Magic Johnson could not do.

The Los Angeles Lakers: Kobe and Shaq are arguably the best duo to ever exist in the NBA. They won 3 championships together, under Phil jackson, and won it all consecutively from 2000, 2001, and 2002. Their pick and roll game, the way they imposed their will on teams, was a sight to behold. However, after Shaq wanted to lead his own team and play somewhere else, the Lakers lost the big-man and their Kobe and Shaq era, ended.

The New York Yankees: They won the world series from 1998-2000 and the only other team to win the world series for three straight seasons is the Oakland Athletics.

The Montreal Canadiens: The Montreal Canadiens are one of the only three teams in that have three-peated in the NHL and the Canadiens have done it twice.

The New York Islanders: The Islanders won four straight Stanley Cup championships from 1980 and 1983. They are the last known team to have won four consecutive championships and the last NHL team to three-peat till date.

The Houston Comets: The Houston Comets won their third consecutive championship from 1997-2000. They are the first dynasty in the WNBA and one of the first 8 teams of the league.

Now the Chiefs have a chance to become the first team in NFL history to three-peat. Mahomes and the group, could add the Chiefs to become only the 8th franchise, in the last 50 years, to win three in a row.
