Novak Djokovic continues his bid to match Roger Federer’s eight Wimbledon men’s singles titles record. He showed a great character in the fourth round matchup against Alex De Minaur where he lost the opening set 1-6. The Serbian ace pulled off a comeback and won the next three sets with a same scoreline of 6-4. The 38-year-old dropped 18 games in the previous match, seven more than the total number of second and third round. Still, Djokovic has a potential to turn the table from any situation.

Novak Djokovic will play his 63rd Grand Slam quarter-final, more than any other player in the Open Era. He came to the Wimbledon without any preparation on grass court. The former No. 1 reached the final in each of the five previous appearances, winning three and losing only to one player, Alcaraz, in the 2023 and 2024 finals.
Flavio Cobolli got better of Marin Čilić in a four-set encounter where last two sets went into tiebreaker. The Italian ace reached the second week of the Grand Slam for the first time. He beat Mensik, Pinnington Jones, and Zhukayev in straight sets. Since April, Cobolli won two titles in Bucharest and Hamburg. Fitness will surely give him a push to counter Djokovic. He has dropped just one set in London so far and it went into a tiebreak. With a 6-2 record on grass, Cobolli could be the underdog player reaching into the quarterfinals.

Novak Djokovic and Flavio Cobolli will play each other for the second time on the ATP tour. The 7-time Wimbledon champion outclassed the Italian ace in the ATP Masters 1000 Shanghai in straight sets. Both players will lock horns on the grass court for the first time.
Novak Djokovic will stick to his aggressive baseline and strong backhand. The Serbian ace control the game both sites of the court and his experience will be key. Playing his first Grand Slam quarterfinal, Flavio Cobolli will feel the scoreboard pressure of the Centre Court. The long rallies and tiebreak situation can hamper his momentum.
The Novak Djokovic vs. Flavio Cobolli match starts at 8:30 AM ET on Wednesday, July 8, 2025. Djokovic and Cobolli will play at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in a quarterfinal clash at Wimbledon 2025. It will be the first Centre Court matchup for Cobolli. Meanwhile, Djokovic has played all his matchups at the iconic court.
