Notable players who did not participate in Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Combine

Eric Divakaran

In Day 3 of the NFL Combine, we saw many players from various different positions absolutely put on a show in the drills that were conducted. There were some players such as Matthew Golden, who finished his 40-yard dash in 4.29 seconds, Bhayshul Tuten who raised up for 40.5 inches in the vertical jump drill, and Jaylin Noel who broad jumped for 11-foot 2-inch, and many more. Some of these players definitely raised their draft stock, whereas it plummeted for others.

Day 1 and 2 consisted of defensive backs, defensive linemen, cornerbacks, and tight ends. Whereas day 3 had running backs, quarterbacks, and wide receivers perform in the Combine. There were many players absent from each position who did not participate in the NFL Combine. Some were out due to injuries, whereas other players such as Cam Ward, and Shedeur Sanders just decided to skip the drills altogether.

Let us look at some notable players who skipped Day 3 of the NFL combine.

Players who skipped Day 3 of the NFL Combine

  • Shedeur Sanders, QB Colorado- Sanders is widely considered as one of the best prospects in the 2025 NFL draft class. He chose not to throw or perform drills at the Combine. He attended interviews and measurements but followed a growing trend amongst elite quarterbacks, savings his on-field performance for Colorado’s Pro-Day. Sanders also previously stated that he feels like he’s the top quarterback in 2025’s draft class and does not need to prove himself at the Combine.
  • Cam Ward, QB, Washington – Ward did not participate in the NFL Combine and his justification as to why he didn’t participate is similar to Sanders. Ward cited that there is “five years of film,” to determine how great of a quarterback he is. Ward is arguably the best quarterback prospect in the 2025 draft class and could very well be the number one pick in the draft. So his reasoning for why he did not want to participate, cannot be argued.
  • Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State- Jeanty is arguably the best running back in the 2025 draft class and since he’s already a top player, he decided to skip on the NFL Combine. The Combine is most often for players who specifically want to improve their draft stock but for a player like Jeanty, it isn’t necessary. Since he’s a top RB in the 2025 class, he may have felt like he doesn’t need to prove anything, anymore, to the scouts.

  • Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona- McMillan did not participate in the Combine either. He is widely regarded as the best wideout in the 2025 draft class. His draft capital is already locked up so at this point it isn’t worth the risk for him and he also doesn’t not to prove anything further.

I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
