2025 NFL Combine Day 3 Results: NFL Combine Winners and Losers

Day 3 of the NFL Combine was highly anticipated. We saw wide receivers, quarterbacks, and running backs put on a show in the Combine and after two days of defenders working out, it was time for the offensive players to take the field. The day featured some of the top prospects undergoing various drills like the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, and position specific drills. With NFL GMs, Coaches, and scouts present in the Lucas Field Stadium, having a standout performance in the Combine is much needed, as it can significantly boost a player’s draft stock.

There were some notable players missing from the Combine due to injuries or just because they are a lock to be a top pick in the draft. However, there were many prospects who still had something to prove and while some of them succeeded in raising their draft stock, there were others who failed to. So today we look at the winner and losers from the Day 3 of the NFL Combine. Let’s get right into it.

Day 2 Winners from the NFL Combine

Matthew Golden, WR, Texas

Matthew Golden was the fastest amongst all the wideouts present in the Combine. He ran a blistering 4.29 in the 40-yard dash and it is the second best 40-time amongst all the other positions in the Combine. He also ran the 10-yard split in 1.49 seconds but did not participant in others drills such as any of the jumping exercises or positional drills. Golden’s 40-time should be enough to impress every scout or coach there is.

Bhayshul Tuten, RB, Virginia

Tuten, on Saturday, led all the running backs at the Combine by finishing the 40-yard dash in 4.32 seconds. It was by far the best timing as the second best record by a RB in the 2025 Combine was 4.38 seconds. He also showcased his bunnies as Tuten levitated for 40.50 inches in the vertical jump drill and his 10-foot 10-inch broad jump was enough to determine his athleticism.

Jaylin Noel, WR, Iowa

Noel certainly turned heads in the combine with some of the most freakish display of athleticism. He jumped for 41.50 inches at the vertical jump drill which was tied for the best amongst all receivers in the 2025 Combine. He also led all players at his position with a 11-foot 2-inch broad jump and ran the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds, tied for 9th best amongst receivers.

Brady Cook, QB, Missouri

Brady Cook most certainly raised his draft stock after a tremendous performance in the Combine. He was the fastest amongst quarterbacks and posted a 4.59 second 40-yard dash. Cook also showed off his hops as he raised up for 37 inch vertical jump and posted a broad jump of 10-foot 7-inch. Cook also showed out in the intermediate and deep drilling pass with tremendous accuracy. He outperformed Jaxson Dart and Will Howard, who are both projected to be drafted ahead of him.

Cook proved that he is one of the most athletic and proficient quarterbacks in this year’s draft class.

Dont’e Thorton Jr., WR, Tennessee

Thorton was the second fastest receiver in the Combine and finished his 40-yard dash in 4.30 seconds. Many coaches and scouts were already after him for his size but his speed has got to make him one of the hottest commodities in the 2025 draft class.

Day 2 Losers from the NFL Combine

Will Howard, QB, Ohio

Howard was great when it came to his short range passes but struggled when the he had to throw deeper. He was projected to be drafted ahead of Brady Cook but now that might not be the case anymore. His poor performance at the Combine might hinder his chances at becoming a starter level QB in the NFL.

Isaiah Bond, WR, Texas

Bond didn’t have a bad performance in the Combine. In fact it was quite good. However, he promised all of us that he would break the Chiefs’ Xavier Worthy’s 40-time at the Combine. He made a bold statement but could not fulfill on his promise. In fact, Bond wasn’t even close to breaking the time, as he finished with 4.39 seconds. Worthy finished his 40-yard dash in 4.21 seconds and you can clearly see how far Bond was from the record.

Antwane Wells Jr., WR, Mississippi

Wells had a disappointing performance in the Combine as he clocked his 40-time in 4.58 seconds, which is very slow for a wide receiver. While Wells had a good show out in vertical jump and broad jump with 34-inch and 10-foot 4-inch respectively, it wasn’t exactly an eye popping number. His lack of speed may be some of the biggest concerns going forward and he may have plummeted his draft stock.
