Chaos ensured at Night of Champion when a one on one match featured seven wrestlers.

John Cena and CM Punk battled tonight for the WWE Undisputed Championship at Night of Champions. The match that tested the strength and durability of these legends with the height of brutality. This is one of the reasons that they have been part of 14 matches before tonight and had a 6-6 record against each other, while the other two matches ended up in a no-result. John Cena fought in Night of Champions and in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for one last time. CM Punk featured in his first match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

John Cena Defeats CM Punk to Retain His Title

John Cena retained his title in the most brutal and chaotic match at Night of Champions. He will now face Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam 2025. John Cena and CM Punk fought so hard and kept the crowd on the edge of their seats. A match worthy of the main event, as they fought each other till the last bit of strength. They took turns to dominate the match.

These two legends of WWE know each other so well that they countered each other’s finishers. CM Punk went for a GTS, but Cena countered it with an STF. CM Punk countered it with an Anaconda Vice. CM Punk held John Cena in an STF, but John Cena touched the rope. John Cena delivered three Attitude Adjustments, and CM Punk kicked out of both. John Cena went for the Championship belt and but didn’t attack CM Punk with it.

CM Punk delivered a GTS, but John Cena kicked out. John Cena accidentally hit the referee. CM Punk hit another GTS, but no one was there to count. Seth Rollins entered with his crew, and chaos ensued as they went after CM Punk. Penta entered the ring and brawled with Bron Breakker. Sami Zayn entered next, and Penta took out both Sami Zayn and Bron Breakker.

Seth Rollins called for a referee for the MITB cash-in, but John Cena made sure the referee didn’t enter the ring. Bronson Reed and Seth Rollins assaulted John Cena, and Bronson Reed was going for a Tsunami when CM Punk pushed him. John Cena then delivered an Attitude Adjustment to Bronson Reed. CM Punk and John Cena shook hands and hugged each other, but John Cena went for a Low blow.

CM Punk knew it as he stopped the kick and went for a GTA. Seth Rollins hit CM Punk with the MITB Briefcase and then delivered a Stomp to him. John Cena threw Seth Rollins out and pinned CM Punk to win the match and left the ring. He is now one up on CM Punk with a score of 7-6 against him.
