NFL Analyst Believes Drake Maye Is Headed For MVP Conversation By the End of the Month

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, is turning heads across the league with a sophomore season that has many believing that he could be the franchise QB that the Pats need, to get back into title contention. Through five games in the 2025 campaign, Maye has engineered a surprising 3-2 start for the Patriots, showcasing pinpoint accuracy and poise under pressure that has drawn comparisons to NFL legends.

Maye’s statistical dominance is undeniable at this point. He boats a league-leading 73.9% completion rate, ranking sixth in completions (113) and top-10 in passing yards (1261), touchdowns (7), and yards per attempt. His off-target throw percentage sits at 13.6%, 10th best in the league, which is an improvement from his rookie year, aided by an upgraded offensive line and coordinator Josh McDaniels’ scheme.

Chris Brockman Believes Drake Maye is Ready to Take a Leap Into MVP Conversations

Brockman is not wrong and with the way Maye has performed recently, he may very well be in the MVP conversation. The Pats and Maye will face the New Orleans Saints on 12th October, who have a 1-4 record. Then in the following week, the Pats will take on the Tennessee Titans who have only recorded a single win so far. And finally the Brown on October 26th, where they’ll take on the Cleveland Browns with a 1-4 record. These three opponents of the Patriots, have combined for a total of three wins, making the Pats’ chances of winning the ball game extremely high.

If Maye sustains this performance, he may very well enter the MVP conversation and we may also be witnessing to the Patriots rebuilding right in front of our eyes, to yet again become a dynasty that they were in the 2000s and 2010s with Tom Brady as their QB.
