It was a wild week in NBA!
Another week in the NBA has wrapped up, and wow, it didn’t disappoint. We had a record-breaking rookie performance, reigning MVPs just casually trying out an insane buzzer-beater shot, and some teams redefining the art of how NOT to win games.
So let’s dive into the top five takeaways from this week.
You’d think recording a triple donut in a game (zero points, zero rebounds, zero assists) would be a rare feat, but Gabe Vincent is turning it into an art form. He’s done it not once, not twice, but three times this month.
Against the Pistons, Grizzlies, and Magic, Vincent played a combined 44 minutes without making a single statistical contribution. Surely, this isn’t what J.J. Redick meant when he asked his players to be “consistent.”
No, it was not some kind of bizarre strategic move (or was it?) by Willie Green but when your entire starting lineup is injured, you have no choice but to come up with a Plan B or in this case a B team. They faced Cleveland with their entire starting lineup sidelined, leaving rookie Yves Missi as the highest-paid player on the court. Result? Let’s move forward.
At least they should if they haven’t. The 76ers had held the worst record this season at 2-12, but the Wizards spared Paul George and Co. from embarrassment with an even worse performance. After losing 11 consecutive games, the Wizards set a new low for the season, now sitting at 2-13.

Speaking of Denver, Nikola Jokic spent another week reminding us all why he’s the reigning MVP. Sure, his 34-13-8 game against the Lakers was insane, but it was his antics that stole the show. With less than a second on the clock, Jokic decided to one-tap a full-court heave like he was playing water polo.
The result? It nearly got in. But Jokic’s missed shot at least confirmed that he is indeed a ‘human’.
Every now and then, a rookie bursts onto the scene and makes you double-check their stat line just to be sure you’re not hallucinating. This week, it was Lakers rookie Dalton Knecht, who went full ‘Steph Curry’ mode against the Jazz dropping a career-high 37 points and tying the NBA rookie record with nine made threes.
