Not only did Philadelphia face consecutive defeats, but they also lost Paul George to a knee injury during the second quarter.
With no surprise, the Philadelphia 76ers hit rock bottom with their fifth straight loss just a few days after a team meeting to change the fortune. The Sixers delivered a woeful show on the road against the Memphis Grizzlies and fell to 2-12 in the NBA 2024-25 season.

Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 25 points while Desmond Bane had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Grizzlies. Memphis also set a season-high with 19 3-pointers on Wednesday night. Joel Embiid improved from the Florida show and paced the 76ers with 35 points and 11 rebounds. Not only did Philadelphia face consecutive defeats, but they also lost Paul George to a knee injury during the third quarter.
The Sixers’ All-Star trio debuted for the first time this season. Nick Nurse allowed rookie Jared McCain to the starting unit who finished with 20 points. However, it feels like the writer is giving us nostalgia for Philadelphia’s ongoing season. Both teams tied on 31 points in the first quarter but Memphis built a double-digit lead in the second. The 76ers failed to catch up till the end and suffered a 117-111 loss.
NBA fans are always ready for the humour and sarcasm and they came up with witty reactions to the Philadelphia 76ers’ disappointing campaign with a 2-12 record. Fans took a dig against the Sixers with funny memes and some of them gave solid advice to the side, who couldn’t improve despite the whole meeting drama.
“I think 2-12 officially erases the expectation of a top 6 seed in the Eastern Conference. Even if the Sixers go on an absolute tear for 68 games, how many people will believe in the likelihood of a deep playoff run considering the math for NBA teams in the play-in?,” posted an NBA fan on social media platform ‘X’.
Paul George finished with just 2 points on 16.7% shooting before leaving the game. Joel Embiid impressed with 35-point outing on the road. “Pros from this game: Embiid looked great after the first quarter,” wrote one fan on X. “Back in his bag, aggressively looking for his shot, defensive deterrent. Good signs all around. Cons from this game: Quite literally everything else…”

I won't spend a dime with this team
The alone way they are getting better if people stop buying tickets
This team needs new ownership the writing is on the wall
They need new blood.#76ers

Philadelphia’s struggle was unreal as they shot just 43.3% from the field and were totally clueless. They now have the worst record in the league and after Paul George’s injury, it could be down and down. 2-12 is just the trailer and we won’t be surprised if fans will bury the 76ers on social media with criticism in upcoming weeks.
