Brooklyn Nets squeezed past the Los Angeles Lakers for a surprising home win. Noah Clowney scored 19 points and the Nets snapped a seven-game losing streak. Cam Johnson and Keon Johnson each had 18 points while Tyrese Martin finished with 14. Lakers played without LeBron James due to a strained left groin.
Luka Doncic finished with 22 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists but shot only 8 for 26. Gabe Vincent added 24 points for the Lakers, who dropped second straight game. Dalton Knecht added 19 points and Reaves had 17 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds.
Atlanta Hawks overcame the short-handed Philadelphia 76ers for a third straight win. Dyson Daniels scored 25 points and Zaccharie Risacher had 22. Terance Mann dropped a season-high 19. Atlanta are 3-1 in their six-game homestand.
Quentin Grimes led the Sixers with a game-high 35 points, including 17 in the fourth quarter. Ricky Council IV had a career high 19 points. 76ers rallied for a comeback in the second half but damage was already done.
Denver Nuggets won the final game in a two-game set against the OKC Thunder. Nikola Jokic scored 35 points, 18 rebounds and eight assists. Jamal Murray had 34 points for the Nuggets, who lost the previous game to Thunder.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 25 points and Lu Dort added a season-high 26 points, including eight 3-pointers. Isaiah Hartenstein scored 20 points for the Thunder, who required one more win to clinch playoffs. Thunder also snapped their seven-game winning streak.
The short-handed Dallas Mavericks ended a five-game losing streak with a 133-129 road win over San Antonio Spurs. Spencer Dinwiddie scored 28 points and Klay Thompson added 26. Naji Marshall chipped in with 24 points, and Kessler Edwards dropped 22, including 11 rebounds.
Spurs’ poor run continues without Wembanyama and they dropped third straight game. Harrison Barnes finished with 29 points and Keldon Johnson had 28. Devin Vassell recorded 24 points in the loss.
Stephen Curry fell short of two 3-pointers to become the first player in NBA history with 4,000 3-pointers but Golden State Warriors won their fifth straight game. Jimmy Butler posted a triple-double with 15 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds, and Curry, who remained unbeaten in Portland from four years, added 24.
Gary Payton II added a career-high 26 points for the Golden State, who are 12-1 in games Butler played. Deni Avdija scored 34 points and 16 rebounds while Anfernee Simons added 32 for Portland. Donovan Clingan chipped in with 15 points and 9 rebounds.
