“It Wasn’t Fair” – Luka Doncic Points Out on Poor Officiating During Lakers’ Loss to Nets

The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a disappointing 111-108 road defeat to the struggling Brooklyn Nets on Monday night. During the game, Luka Doncic was not happy with the referees, and the five-time All-Star appeared to make some pointed comments directed at the officiating.

The Slovenian star dropped a triple-double with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists. Lakers held a 12-point lead in the opening quarter, but Brooklyn outscored them 32-19 in the second period to control the game. Los Angeles, who played without LeBron James, didn’t hold the nerves in the final quarter and dropped their second straight game.

Luka Doncic struggled in the shooting and shot just 8-of-26 from the field. Meanwhile, the 25-year-old guard took accountability for the loss. He looked unhappy about the state of officiating in Brooklyn. Luka made remarks on the referee after the game.

“At the end of the day, it was a lot,” Doncic told reporters. “It wasn’t fair, but you know, just gotta play the game. I gotta keep playing the game. But it was a lot, man, I’m not gonna lie.”

The reporter also asked about his unfair comment, and Doncic refused to say anything about it. “I’m not gonna say anything, but everyone saw the game so they know what happened,” Lakers guard said.

Luka Doncic called for a foul, but it wasn’t given. The five-time All-Star yelled at the referee in Serbian. During the Clippers’ game, Doncic was seen rubbing his sweat all over the ball when James Harden was making a free throw. The female referee was not happy with his behavior, and she didn’t grab the ball when Luka threw it gently in her direction.

The Los Angeles Lakers slipped to third in the West after two consecutive defeats against the Celtics and the Nets. They were on an eight-game winning streak and two defeats in a row broke the momentum. LeBron James’ injury will also hit them hard in a hectic NBA schedule.
