Here’s the NBA Daily Recap for Mar. 2, 2025, where we witnessed nine matchups. Sunday in the NBA was full of big matchups. Players like Anthony Edwards, Luka Doncic, De’Andre Hunter, Jalen Brunson, Jalen Williams and Nikola Jokic made differences in the game.

From Cleveland Cavaliers reaching 50 win in regular season to Los Angeles Lakers sweeping LA Clippers in a two-game set, let’s go through the key highlights from the NBA action on Sunday.

Celtics 110-103 Nuggets

Boston Celtics moved on from a disappointing defeat against the Cavs and beat the Denver Nuggets on Sunday’s opening encounter. Jaylen Brown scored 22 points and Jayson Tatum scored 16 points with 11 rebounds. Derrick White added 17 points, including a floater from the foul line with less than a minute left.

Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with 20 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists. Jamal Murray dropped 13 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter. Christian Braun chipped in with 24 points. Denver cut the deficit to five points in third quarter but Celtics didn’t drop it.

Cavaliers 133-129 Trail Blazers (OT)

De’Andre Hunter scored 32 points, including a go-ahead 3-pointer with 30 seconds left in overtime and the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Portland Trail Blazers for the 10th straight win. Caves erased a 22-point deficit against Boston and did the same against Portland when they came from an 18-point deficit to win it.

Ty Jerome scored 25 points and Evan Mobley added 20 for the Cavs, who played without Donovan Mitchell. Deni Avdija led the Trail Blazers with 30 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for his first career triple-double. He missed a 3-pointer with 6 seconds left and Hunter made two free throws to win it for Cavs. Anfernee Simons also contributed 27 points for Portland.

Pacers 127-112 Bulls

Aaron Nesmith dropped a career-high 27 points to help Indiana Pacers beat the Chicago Bulls on Sunday. Pascal Siakam scored 20 points and Tyrese Haliburton highlighted his fifth consecutive double-double with 17 points and 12 assists.

The Pacers outscored the Bulls 32-20 in the fourth quarter. Coby White paced Chicago with 26 points, including 20 in the first half. Josh Giddey and Matas Buzelis scored 18 each. Zach Collins added 16 points and the Bulls have lost four out of last six.

Heat 112-116 Knicks (OT)

Miami’s luck has gone with Jimmy Butler’s departure as they dropped one more game on Sunday. New York Knicks overcame a 19-point deficit to beat the Miami Heat in overtime. Jalen Brunson scored 31 points and OG Anunoby added 23 in New York’s comeback win. Karl Anthony Towns dropped 19 points and 16 rebounds and the Knicks won their third straight game.

Miami were two points behind with 27 seconds left, but Anunoby’s dunk assured a win for the Caves. Bam Adebayo led the Heat with 30 points. Tyler Herro added 22 points, and rookie Kel’el Ware had 12 points and career-high six blocks.

Lakers 108-102 Clippers

The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Clippers for the second time in three days to reach the second spot in the Western Conference. Luka Doncic scored 29 points and nine assists, while LeBron James added 17. The veteran missed out his 50k career milestone by one point. Rookie Dalton Knecht finished with 19 points. Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura didn’t play due to injury.

Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with a season-high 33 points. The Clippers, who dropped fifth game in last six, added a late comeback to reduce the 21-point deficit but fell short in the final quarter. Norman Powell left with right hamstring soreness.
