Los Angeles Lakers star, Austin Reaves left the game against the Los Angeles Clippers with right calf soreness after playing nine minutes in the first quarter on Friday. As per reports, the 26-year-old underwent an MRI on his calf Saturday, which showed no significant injury.

Despite losing Reaves early in the game, Los Angeles beat their inter-city rivals 106-102. Lakers also played without Rui Hachimura, who was already out for the contest after leaving Thursday’s game with a left knee strain.

The fourth-year Lakers guard tallied six points (2-4 FG, 2-4 3Pt) and one block before leaving the game. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Reaves will be day-to-day after MRI on his right calf revealed no serious injury. However, his status is uncertain for Sunday against the Clippers.

The 6-feet guard entered the Clippers’ game with career-best averages of 19.2 points, 6.1 assists and 4.3 rebounds in regular season. Reaves has become a vital figure for the Lakers this season, averaging 34.7 minutes per game. He played in 51 of the team’s 56 games and JJ Redick is playing him regularly in the starting lineup.

Last month, Reaves put a remarkable performance against the Pacers. The 26-year-old guard joined Lakers legends Kobe Bryant, LeBron James after his career-high performance. Meanwhile, the Lakers are on a high confidence with a convincing win against the Clippers and they reached fourth in the West with a record of 37-21.
