Here’s the NBA Daily Recap for Jan. 14, 2025, where we witnessed seven matchups. Mavericks and Nuggets locked horns for the head-to-head tiebreaker while Nets weathered a 39-point night from Scoot Henderson. We saw some top-class performances from Giannis Antetokounmpo, Donovan Mitchell, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jamal Murray, and Trae Young.

From NBA-leading Caves completing revenge against the Pacers to Trae Young tying Devin Booker in all-time 40-point games, let’s go through the key highlights from the NBA action on Tuesday.

Pacers 117-127 Cavaliers

The NBA-leading Cleveland Cavaliers squeezed past the Indiana Pacers 127-117 to avenge the previous loss. Donovan Mitchell scored 35 points while Darius Garland chipped in with 24 points. Evan Mobley added 22 points and 13 rebounds for Cleveland.

Pascal Siakam scored 23 points for the Pacers, who halted a six-game winning streak. Myles Turner added 17 points and Bennedict Mathurin had 19. The Caves had a 100-89 lead heading into the final quarter. The Pacers reduced the deficit to five points but the Cavaliers thwarted the comeback attempt. Tyrese Haliburton-less Pacers had ended the Cavaliers’ 12-game winning streak on Sunday night.

76ers 102-118 Thunder

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 32 points to guide the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 118-102 win over the Philadelphia 76ers, who were without Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Paul George. The Sixers are 7-6 with Embiid and 8-17 without him. Philadelphia had an 8-0 run in the third to reduce the deficit to four points but Thunder outscored the 76ers 31-21 in the fourth to win the game.

Justin Edwards led the Sixers with 25 points off the bench. Jeff Dowtin chipped in with 18 points and Guerschon Yabusele added 17 points. Bucks 105-91 Kings

Milwaukee Bucks outscored the Sacramento Kings 47-26 in the first quarter to win the second straight game at home. Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with 33 points, 13 assists, and 11 rebounds on 60.9% shooting from the field. Sacramento tried to turn the table in the fourth but the first quarter sealed their fate early.

De’Aaron Fox added 20 points and a team-high 11 rebounds for the Kings, who snapped their season-bet seven-game winning streak. DeMar DeRozan led all the team scorers with 28 points while Domantas Sabonis added 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Mavericks 99-118 Nuggets

Denver Nuggets walked out from Dallas with a series sweep as they overcame the short-handed Dallas Mavericks for their fourth straight win. Jamal Murray led all the scorers with a season-high 45 points and Nikola Jokic secured his 146th triple-double in the win. The three-time MVP also became the fastest player to reach 15000 points, 7,500 rebounds and 5,000 assists.

Regular injuries, poor rebounding and inconsistent shooting handed over a second straight loss to Denver. Dallas also ended a four-game homestand with 2-2. Kyrie Irving finished with 11 points on 4-of-18 from the field on his return game after injury. Denver won the season series against the Mavericks 3-1 and clinched the head-to-head tiebreaker.
