Julius Randle’s 35-point performance including the buzzer-beating 3-pointer helped Timberwolves to overcome Phoenix Suns 120-117. A season-high 44 points from Devin Booker couldn’t help the Suns to lose the third straight game. Phoenix Suns badly missed Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal in the game. Anthony Edwards chipped in 24 points for Minnesota and also picked up a technical foul for an obscene gesture. Grayson Allen added 18 points off the bench for the Suns including a few 3-pointers in the final quarter.
Indiana Pacers maintained their 4-game home streak in the regular season to beat the Jimmy Butler-less Miami Heat. The Pacers never trailed in the rematch and avenged the NBA Cup loss. Myles Turner notched up a season-high 34 points to outscore Miami 62-28 in the paint. Bennedict Mathurin poured in 21 points and 12 rebounds while Pascal Siakam added 23 points for the Pacers. Tyler Herro paced the Heat with 28 points, and Bam Adebayo added 24. Miami’s 6-game road trip ends with 4 defeats.
Cavaliers extended their unbeaten streak to 15 matches as they overcame Charlotte Hornets 128-114. The Cavs become the fourth team in NBA history to start 15-0 after the Warriors (2016), Rockets (1994) and Capitols (1949). Ty Jerome delivered 24 points for Cleveland in place of Mitchell and got support from Darius Garland with a 25-point performance. Evan Mobley added 23 points and 11 rebounds while Jarrett Allen had 21 and 15 rebounds for the Caves. LaMelo Ball scored 31 points and 12 assists, and Miles Bridges added 19 for the Hornets in the loss.
Memphis Grizzlies had the laugh in the first of two encounters against the Nuggets as they are scheduled to play again in the NBA Cup on Tuesday. Denver was 20 points behind after three quarters and despite a 26-21 comeback in the fourth couldn’t change the result. Nuggets dropped their second game in the absence of Niko Jokic and Aaron Gordon. Jaren Jackson scored 20 points and Rookie Jaylen Wells chipped in 15 points to extend the winning run to four games at home. Desmond Bane also had 11 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. Julian Strawther paced the Nuggets with 19 points. .
Season’s 4th triple-double performance from Cade Cunningham guided Detroit Pistons to hand over its eighth straight loss to the Washington Wizards. He scored 21 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds in the victory. Jaden Ivey added 28 points and Malik Beasley contributed 26 for the Pistons. Pistons had double-digit lead throughout the game. They had a 12-3 run in the third quarter to take the lead to 21 points. Jordan Poole and Kyle Kuzma hit 22 points each for the Wizards.
Portland Trail Blazers held the nerves against Atlanta’s late comeback to secure a 114-110 win. Shaedon Sharpe scored 32 points including a vital 3-pointer down the stretch. Dalano Banton added 23 points for the Blazers to catch a 3-game winning streak. Trail Blazers had 13 points advantage heading into the final quarter but the Hawks pulled off a comeback with a 10-0 run. Trae Young’s two 3-pointers helped Atlanta to take a lead over the hosts. However, Sharpe’s 3-pointer in the end snatched the victory. Jalen Johnson added 25 points and Trae Young highlighted a 29-point performance.

Fred VanVleet’s season-high 28-point performance and Alperen Sengun’s second triple-double of this season led the Houston Rockets to a win over the Bulls. All five starters reached double-figures for the Rockets as they dropped 143 points. Houston now improved to 10-4 with a fifth straight win. Amen Thompson scored 16 points and 11 rebounds from the bench. Houston dominated in the rebounds with 75 in reply to Chiago’s 56. Zach LaVine was the only starter to reach a double-figure as he paced the Bulls with 15 points. Bulls dropped their second straight game to post 5-9 in the East.
In the absence of star guard Luka Doncic, Oklahoma City Thunder couldn’t cross the line as they lost to Mavericks in a nail-biting finish. P.J. Washington recorded 27 points and a career-high 17 rebounds for the Mavericks. Kyrie Irving scored 23 points for Dallas to win the second straight game. Mavericks are 7-7 in the Western Conference and end a three-game losing streak on the road. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 36 points and Jalen Williams chipped in 27 for Oklahoma City. The Thunder rallied in the fourth quarter after having a 14-point deficit with six minutes to play. Despite a 21-9 run in the end, they dropped their only third game of the season.
Karl-Anthony Towns’ comeback with 26 points, 15 rebounds and six assists assured a 114-104 win for New York over the visiting Brooklyn Nets. OG Anunoby racked up 24 points and eight rebounds for the Knicks. Josh Hart hit 20 points, eight rebounds and eight assists while Mikal Bridges had 21 points for New York Knicks. Cam Johnson added 22 points for the Nets, who lost their third straight game and eighth straight against the Knicks. New York posted a 7-6 record after the third straight win and the Nets fell to 5-9 in the East.
James Harden celebrated his record of 2nd most 3-pointers in NBA history with a win as the Clippers routed the Utah Jazz 116-105. The 35-year-old guard posted 20 points and 11 assists to end a three-game losing streak. LA Clippers jumped out to a 66-45 lead at half-time and it proved costly for the Jazz. Utah responded hard and reduced the lead to seven points with three minutes to play. Ivica Zubac posted 22 points and 11 rebounds while Normal Powell had 19 points for the Clippers. Jordan Clarkson paced Jazz with 21 points and Lauri Markkanen poured in 18 points and 10 rebounds.
