Here’s the NBA Daily Recap for Feb. 9, 2025, where we witnessed only three matchups due to the Super Bowl event. Despite a three-game slate, Sunday belonged to Hubie Brown, who called his final NBA game today. He spent 20 years as an ESPN commentator.

From Milwaukee Bucks giving final send-off to Hubie Brown to Cade Cunningham recording 8th triple-double of the season, let’s go through the key highlights from the NBA action on Sunday.

Pistons 112-102 Hornets

Cade Cunningham dropped his eighth triple-double of the season and the Detroit Pistons beat the short-handed Charlotte Hornets in an afternoon matchup. His triple-double was the third-highest total in franchise history. Tobias Harris chipped in with 20 points and Jalen Duren had 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Miles Bridges led Charlotte with 30 points. Seth Curry added 26 for the Hornets, who lost seven out of the last eight. Charlotte had a 14-0 run in the fourth quarter to reduce the deficit to three points. However, the Pistons held the nerves to win the game.

Rockets 94-87 Raptors

Short-handed Houston Rockets snapped a six-game losing streak with a win over the Toronto Raptors in a low-scoring game. Dillon Brooks scored 19 points, and Jalen Green added 18 in the win. Toronto held a four-point lead in the fourth quarter but Houston sparked a 14-2 run and pulled back away down the stretch.

The Rockets were playing without Fred VanVleet and Steven Adams. All-Star Alperen Sengun also left in the first quarter with back spasms. Jeff Green scored a season-high 14 points and Jock Landale dropped 11 with a season-best 10 rebounds. Immanuel Quickley led the Raptors with 20 points but couldn’t prevail the fourth straight defeat.

Bucks 135-127 76ers

Damian Lillard highlighted a season-high 43-point performance, including eight assists and seven rebounds as Milwaukee Bucks beat the Philadelphia 76ers in the final game of Hubie Brown as broadcaster. Bucks were playing without Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has been ruled out from All-Star Game as well.

Tyrese Maxey shined again with an impressive 39 points. Joel Embiid scored 27 and had a knee issue during the game which indicates that he needs another surgery. Guerschon Yabusele contributed 18 and Philadelphia dropped third straight game. The Bucks are 4-5 without Giannis Antetokounmpo this season.
