The Sacramento Kings were a difficult team to evaluate last season, as they had a lot of trade talks and drama surrounding them last season. First off, they fired their head coach, Mike Brown, who had helped the team win to a playoff appearance in 2021-22 season. Though the Kings were knocked off by the Golden State Warriors in the playoffs after Steph Curry’s 50-point explosion, the Kings looked like a team that was finally ready to compete with De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis leading the way. However, the team went from “Light the Beam,” to a team struggling to make the Play-In Tournament in a matter of just a couple of years. Now, they fired head coach Mike Brown, traded away Fox to the Spurs, and have a new personnel with DeMar DeRozan and Zach Lavine joining the group.
While rest of their pieces are well sorted out, their lack of point guard is still glaring and it is no easy task to fill out the hole that De’Aaron Fox left in the city. So the Kings will be looking for a point guard this offseason, and there is a new guard that could be the perfect fit for the Kings in the 2025-26 season. Let’s find out more.
"The biggest thing is that we need a point guard.

The Boston Celtics have a tough decision to make this offseason, as they may need to let go of some of the players on their roster, as the Celtics have a new ownership in place, and they also have the highest payroll in the NBA. One of the players reportedly linked to a lot of trade rumors recently, is two-time NBA champion, Jrue Holiday, who is one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA, and is also a great scoring option, though he is coming off of somewhat of a down year offensively.
Scott Perry said he thinks the Kings need a point guard plus more length and athleticism.

According to an article from ClutchPoint.com, Brett Siegel mentioned Sacramento as a potential destination for the Olympic Gold Medalist. “Jrue Holiday is a veteran player the Sacramento Kings have interest in, sources said… Whether or not Holiday is made available in trade talks by Boston is still the ultimate question,” Siegel wrote on X.

The price of a player of Jrue Holiday’s caliber is not going to come cheap. While we still do not know what the asking price for Holiday would be, he would certainly be a great addition to the team, who can contribute on both sides of the floor, and while the Kings are fine offensively, their defense is why they have been losing these past couple of seasons.
