Napoli vs Pisa Preview, Betting Odds and Predictions – 22/09/25

Moumita Dutta

Napoli return to Serie A action on Monday when they welcome newly promoted Pisa to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. The defending champions will be eager to bounce back after a disappointing midweek defeat in Europe which cut short their winning start to the campaign.

Antonio Conte’s men suffered a setback in their Champions League opener against Manchester City. On the other hand, Pisa are struggling at the bottom end of the table with just one point from three games. With history and form favoring the hosts, the visitors face an uphill battle from the first minute of the game.

Napoli vs Pisa Preview

Napoli

Napoli’s Champions League clash against City ended with captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo dismissed early. This left the side exposed despite Kevin De Bruyne’s efforts. Vanja Milinkovic-Savic impressed in Napoli’s last few matches. Even so, their first-choice goalkeeper Alex Meret has recovered from injury.

Hence, coach Antonio Conte may bring him back to the starting XI. Romelu Lukaku remains unavailable due to a thigh problem, and Amir Rrahmani is still sidelined with a hamstring issue. Former Pisa forward Lorenzo Lucca may feature up front. Meanwhile De Bruyne will look to deliver after a subdued European performance.

Alberto Gilardino’s side arrive in Naples still searching for their first Serie A goal of the season. They’ve earned only a single point so far. Veteran Juan Cuadrado has shaken off a muscle issue and could return to the squad. He will be able to offer experience on the flanks. None of their forwards are firing yet.

Hence, Gilardino may consider changes in attack. M’Bala Nzola is pushing for his first league start and he may get it. Henrik Meister or Stefano Moreo could be sacrificed as Pisa aim to break their scoring drought. Despite a full squad, they will face an uphill challenge against the reigning champions.

Napoli vs Pisa Over/ Under Predictions

Total Goals Over 2.5 @ -120 as per BetMGM:

Napoli are the clear favourites to dominate against Pisa. This makes over 2.5 goals a plausible betting line. The champions have won all three of their Serie A matches this season without dropping a point. They’ve scored at least twice in most of those wins. Their home record is particularly strong. They’ve won six out of their last seven at home.

In those games, they conceded only four goals. On the other side, Pisa have only managed one point so far. The only goal they have managed to score so far stemmed from an opponent’s error. With Napoli’s attacking players in form and Pisa yet to assert themselves offensively, expecting three or more goals in this fixture is reasonable.

Napoli vs Pisa Player Picks

Rasmus Hojlund to score anytime @ +120 as per FanDuel:

Hojlund made a bright start to life at Napoli. He scored on his debut in a 3-1 win against Fiorentina. His goal arrival adds weight to placing a bet on him to score at any time. He has shown good positional awareness and finishing.

With Napoli now likely to have the lion’s share of possession against Pisa, opportunity should come his way most easily. Given his early impact and Napoli’s offensive dominance at home, +120 for Hojlund to get on the scoresheet is an attractive proposition.

Kevin De Bruyne to either score or assist anytime @ -130 as per FanDuel:

Kevin De Bruyne has already opened his Napoli account this season. They also scored in their win against Fiorentina. He has also demonstrated his creativity in prior matches with key chances created. He boasts a pedigree of creating numerous assists during his time in England.

It bolsters confidence in his ability to influence this game against Pisa. Against teams that struggle to keep possession or press high, De Bruyne thrives in those between-the-lines spaces. Offered at -130, backing him to score or assist appears solid given both his finishing and chance-making potential.

Napoli vs Pisa Predictions

Napoli have shown they can control matches and capitalize on their attacking strength. Hojlund and De Bruyne are capable of breaking through. Meanwhile Pisa may struggle to breach the home side’s disciplined defense.

Final Prediction: Napoli 3-0 Pisa

Expect Naples to dominate in possession, press high, and convert a couple of chances early, sealing the win without reply. Given the reigning champions’ perfect league record this season, their strong home form, and Pisa’s scoring struggles, a 3-0 win for Napoli looks to be the most likely outcome.
