Morgan Gibbs-White Set for Spurs Medical After Tottenham Trigger £60M Release Clause

Tottenham’s recruitment strategy this summer has focused on adding Premier League-proven talent to complement their exciting young squad.

Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the signing of Morgan Gibbs-White after they activated the £60 million release clause in the Nottingham Forest midfielder’s contract. The 25-year-old attracted interest from several top clubs, including Manchester City, but Spurs moved swiftly to secure his signature.

The England international notched seven goals and eight assists in 34 Premier League appearances last season. Gibbs-White is set to follow Anthony Elanga out of the City Ground after Forest agreed a £55 million sale of the Swedish winger to Newcastle earlier this week. It has been learnt that the stylish midfielder will sign a six-year contract with Spurs.

Gibbs-White To Become Second Spurs Signing

Under new head coach Thomas Frank, Spurs have already signed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham for £55 million. They also remain interested in Brentford’s Yoane Wissa as they look to bolster their attack further. The two transfers together will cost Spurs a combined £115m.

Having joined Forest from Wolves in 2022 for a then club-record £25 million, Gibbs-White made 118 appearances over three seasons. He contributed 18 goals and 28 assists in total for Nottingham. Gibbs-White played a pivotal role in helping Forest secure European football last season. The midfielder has earned four England caps and made his national team debut against the Republic of Ireland in September.

Tottenham’s recruitment strategy this summer has focused on adding Premier League-proven talent to complement their exciting young squad. With Kudus and now Gibbs-White on the way to north London, both players align with Spurs’ attacking identity while bringing valuable top-flight experience.
