Salah’s comment acknowledged Postecoglou’s pre-season statement, “I always win in my second year”, which has now proven prophetic. The Australian delivered Spurs their first major trophy since 2008, doing so in his 100th match in charge. While some fans speculated that Salah had developed a soft spot for Spurs, many saw it as a light-hearted dig at Manchester United.

Unsurprisingly, Liverpool fans were quick to flood the replies, applauding their “Egyptian King” for his on-point comment. Many agreed that Salah “knew exactly what he was doing.”
