Mirra Andreeva vs. Erika Andreeva Head-to-Head Record, Preview, and Prediction for Stuttgart Open Round of 32

Devavrat Kulkarni

Which sister will reign supreme in this Stuttgart Open round of 32 clash?

In the opening round of the 2025 Stuttgart Open, Russian pair of sisters Mirra Andreeva takes on Erika Andreeva for a place in the round of 16. Younger sister Mirra is currently in the best form of her young tennis career thus far following her wins at the Dubai Championships and the Indian Wells Open. Despite suffering a minor setback at the Miami Open where she lost to American Amanda Anisimova in the round of 32, Mirra will be heading into this match with a lot of confidence.

As for older sister Erika, she is fortunate to receive the chance to play in the opening round as a lucky loser having lost her second qualifier match. Scheduled to play her sister Mirra, Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk pulled out of the tournament with an injury allowing Erika to take her place. The 20-year-old has been struggling this year with a dismal win-loss record of 4-9.

Mirra Andreeva vs Erika Andreeva Head-to-Head Record

In an all-sibling affair, the Andreevas will face off against one another for only the second time in their short careers thus far. Currently the head-to-head stands at 1-0 in favor of older sister Erika who won their first encounter against each other.

The match between the young Russian sisters took place on the hard courts of the Wuhan Open. It was yet another round of 32 match in which Erika completely dominated going on to win in straight sets by a 6-3, 6-1 scoreline. Younger sister Mirra was broken 5 times from 9 breakpoint opportunities while she herself could muster only one service break from just 3 chances.

Although Mirra had a better first serve percentage leading 60% to 53%, Erika won the battle of the aces 5-2 and also had a higher win percentage (63%) on first serves than Mirra (45%). Overall, Erika had the more dominant game and outclassed her sister on the day to take a 1-0 lead in their head-to-head record.

Mirra Andreeva vs Erika Andreeva Comparison

The Andreeva sisters are quite far apart when it comes to their performances on the tour. Despite being nearly 3 years younger, Mirra has a much better career record and has also picked up 3 career titles at the highest level of women’s tennis.

Erika on the other hand has been struggling quite a bit and her ranking has plummeted to 97 after being as high as 65 in October 2024. Erika is also yet to win a singles title on tour and based on her current form, it looks like she will have to wait a little longer.

Mirra Andreeva vs Erika Andreeva Stuttgart Open Prediction

With the contrasting directions in which both sisters are playing this year, it would be hard to predict against younger sister Mirra who is in fine form at the moment. Having lost their only H2H meeting last year should not carry much importance this time around as Mirra’s game has improved considerably since then. Ideally, we can see this match going in Mirra Andreeva’s way with a straight-sets victory very much on the cards.

After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
