Mike Evans will miss a crucial period of the season for the Bucs!
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have learned the fate of wide receiver Mike Evans and his latest hamstring injury. As per Mike Evans’ injury update by NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the 32-year-old is set to miss the action for approximately 2-3 weeks.
While the good news pertaining to Evans’ injury is that this time it is not as bad as the one he suffered last season, which kept him out for nearly a month. Evans will now miss the week 4 game against the Eagles, followed by the week 5 game against the Seahawks for sure.
He could end up missing the next game against the 49ers as well in week 6, before a potential return in week 7 for a clash against the Lions.

The Bucs now have a bit of a concern in the wide receiver department following Mike Evans’ latest hamstring injury. WR2 on the team, Chris Godwin suffered a brutal ankle injury last season, which saw him miss the final 8 games of the season.
Godwin is still recovering from the injury, but is trending towards making a return in week 4 against the Eagles. Even if he does return, Tampa Bay will have to ease him back, limiting his snap count. Moreover, if he doesn’t play, it will be another blow for the NFC South franchise.
However, the other receivers on Tampa Bay’s depth chart are Emeka Egbuka, Sterling Shepard, Tez Johnson, Ryan Miller, and Kameron Johnson.

Rookie wideout Emeka Egbuka will be the WR1 for the upcoming games. Egbuka is already having a tremendous first season in the NFL, and he will be Evans’ replacement as the top receiving target for the moment.

Along with Egbuka, Sterling Shepard has been quite productive as one of the three leading receivers on the team this season. In fact, with 153 receiving yards from 11 receptions, he ranks second on the team, only behind Egbuka in receiving yards.
Tampa Bay is currently 3-0 despite all three wins being one-score games. They have won tight games against the Falcons, Texans, and the Jets, but now have some tough games coming up against the likes of the Eagles, 49ers, and the Lions.
