AC Milan is set to go under major managerial changes after a season to forget. Following the sacking news of manager Sergio Conceição, Massimiliano Allegri will return as AC Milan’s manager. The Italian side after finishing eight faced their worst position since the 2013/14 season.

Conceição after a short span at San Siro is shown the doors after failing to cause a significant impact. Allegri who is reported to come back to AC Milan for his second stint at the club starting from 2025. Signing a deal till 2027, he will also have an option of a third year in his contract.

Allegri’s Track Record: From Serie A Glory to Champions League Finals

Allegri took over as the head coach of AC Milan, a club that desperately sought a revival after a six-year title drought in 2010. In his first season he had a resounding success, as he guided Milan to their 18th Scudetto. Notably, he achieved this remarkable feat by defeating their arch-rivals, Inter Milan, in both league fixtures.

Guiding Juventus to their first Champions League (2014) final in 12 years, Allegri is no stranger to big stages. He also guided his Juventus to their second UCL final in 2017 as he lost on both the occasions. However, Allegri managed to secure 12 trophies, including five Scudetti and five Coppa Italia during his two stints at Juventus.

Allegri’s return to AC Milan in 2025, reportedly on a two-year contract with a third-year option, brings a manager with a proven track record. Allegri is a suitable candidate to pull AC Milan out of the rough given his ability to work under pressure.

AC Milan will face English sides Arsenal and Liverpool in July 2025. It could serve as an exhibition for the new Milan side under Allegri as he tries to stitch the wounds at San Siro back. Whether he can replicate his past glory at San Siro remains the question Milan fans are eager to see answered.
