Luis Díaz has officially signed a four-year contract with FC Bayern Munich, set to run until mid-2029. The move was finalised on July 30, 2025, with the transfer fee widely reported at €75 million, including potential add-ons. Before this, Díaz was under contract with Liverpool until June 2027, a deal he joined in January 2022 from Porto for an initial £37 million.

The Colombian winger shared an heartfelt message for Liverpool fans as he’s headed to the Bundesliga. Going under Vincent Kompany, Diaz reflected on the trophies won and having fulfilled his duties.  “I arrived with all the dreams in the world” – Reflections on Time at Liverpool

Luis Díaz prepares to embark on a new chapter with FC Bayern Munich, he took to social media to share an emotional farewell message with Liverpool fans and teammates.

Having signed a four-year contract with Bayern, the Colombian forward reflected on his time at Anfield, where he spent three and a half impactful years as he said

“Three and a half years that I’ll treasure forever. I arrived with all the dreams in the world, and I am leaving proud of everything we achieved together.

I have met incredible people, fabulous colleagues, coaches who helped me a lot, and extraordinary fans. “

Expressing deep gratitude and pride for his time at Liverpool, highlighting the joy of winning trophies and the strong bonds he continued,,

“Liverpool is, indeed, a special team, and I will keep everyone in my heart. The cycle ends here, and it is so gratifying to look back and realise how happy we were.”

He leaves with a sense of duty fulfilled and as a champion, though his goodbye is overshadowed by the tragic loss of teammate Diogo, whom he holds dear in his heart.

Known for his pace, dribbling, and versatility on the left wing, can fit into Bayern’s attacking setup alongside players like Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala. Under coach Vincent Kompany, who favours dynamic wing play, Diaz could slot into the left flank, complementing Sané’s right-sided runs and Kane’s central presence.

With Díaz’s departure to FC Bayern Munich, Liverpool faces a challenge in filling the left-wing position he occupied so effectively. Current options include Cody Gakpo and the emerging talent Rio Ngumoha, who could step up with more first-team exposure.
