Arsenal Pursuing Eberechi Eze: Will Crystal Palace Budge on £60m Stance?

Gunners Target Eze’s Flair as Palace Hold Firm on Valuation

Arsenal maintains its interest in the Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze. However, the Gunners are unwilling to pay a release clause of more than £60 million and will only make a bid if Crystal Palace are ready for negotiations.

Having interest from several top-flight clubs like Tottenham and Chelsea, reports have suggested Eze is willing to join Mikel Arteta’s project. Eze, a former Arsenal academy player would be a dynamic addition to their midfield if both parties could agree.

Arteta’s Vision: How Eze Fits Arsenal’s Attacking Puzzle

Having a disciplined midfield, Eze’s addition could complement the Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard combo. Moreover, with the addition of Viktor Gyokeres, Eze’s broad vision could form a new duo at the Emirates Stadium.

Eze possesses the versatility to play in four positions giving Arteta a wide range of options to utilise him.  With other clubs like Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Nottingham Forest also eyeing Eze, Arsenal is forced to act swiftly.

In a 2025 interview, he revealed the heartbreak of that rejection, stating “Arsenal was probably the hardest. My dream was to play for them, so, hearing them say no at 13, was tough. I remember training after I got released, and I couldn’t focus, I was crying whilst I was training.”

Having openly discussed his connection to the club, Eze’s return to the Emirates will be an emotional one. Arteta and his team who show interest will be keen to manage a deal with Crystal Palace.

Eberechi Eze joined Crystal Palace from Queens Park Rangers in August 2020 for a reported £17 million, a significant step up to the Premier League after a standout 2019-20 Championship season where he scored 14 goals and earned QPR’s Player of the Year award.

Eze’s 2023-24 season was a significant rise with a personal best of 11 goals and six assists in 31 matches across all competitions. His standout performances earned him the Premier League Player of the Month award in September 2023 for his dribbling and creativity. Guiding the Eagles to their first major trophy (FA Cup), Eze might be at a new stadium in the coming season.
