This quarterfinal encounter on Friday will determine who progresses to the final four, where they will face either No. 2 seed Dayana Yastremska or Dalma Galfi. Boisson and Tomova will meet for the very first time on Friday. Yet to face each other on the WTA Tour, the duo has a style of play suited to the clay courts in Germany. Boisson is currently ranked No. 63 in the world – making her the top ranked Frenchwoman at the moment. A former Top-50 player, this talented Bulgarian achieved her season-best quarterfinal result at the Winners Open in Romania. Tomova is currently ranked No. 105 in the world, and defeated third seed Tatjana Maria and Astra Sharma without dropping a set to get here.
