Liverpool have officially been crowned the Premier League 2024-25 champions after they defeated Tottenham Hotspur by a 5-1 margin at home. This marks their second Premier League title and a historic 20th English top-flight crown overall. With this one, they have equalled Manchester United’s record for highest titles.
The celebrations have been electric so far. Thousands of fans have gathered outside Anfield to revel in a moment that slipped away from them in 2020 due to the pandemic. Now, not only are the fans rejoicing, but the club’s financial team also has plenty to celebrate thanks to the lucrative rewards coming their way.

By winning the title, Liverpool will lift the iconic Premier League trophy adorned with red-and-white ribbons. The team will also receive 40 commemorative medals to distribute among players, coaching staff, and officials. However, as per the rules, players need to have made at least five league appearances this season.

Financially, there isn’t a specific ‘prize fund’ for winning the Premier League. However, clubs earn merit payments based on final league standings. Liverpool are expected to claim a merit payment similar to last season’s champions Manchester City, around £22.6 million. Moreover, Liverpool will earn a substantial overall payout.
This will include money from broadcasting rights, commercial income, and performance bonuses. All Premier League clubs earn an equal share of £86.9 million from TV deals, plus £8.2 million from commercial revenues. Merit payments add approximately £2.8 million per position, with Liverpool’s expected total prize money close to £175 million, which would mirror City’s earnings last year.

Liverpool’s players are also set to benefit personally. Most players have bonus clauses built into their contracts for major achievements like winning the league. Apart from internal bonuses, external sponsors, such as Nike, are likely to pay out additional bonuses as well. Liverpool are reportedly set to earn an extra £2 million from their kit deal after clinching the title.
Additionally, winning the league guarantees Liverpool a place in next season’s Community Shield match. This will boost their commercial strength for future sponsorship deals. The prize money and bonuses are impressive. And along with it are the parades, a moment in history that will live long in memory, the glory that comes with winning the league.
