Winner to face top seed Jessica Pegula.
After an impressive run in Berlin, Liudmila Samsonova aims to continue her grass court evolution at the 2025 Bad Homburg Open in Germany. The Russian faces a tantalising hurdle in the form of qualifier Katerina Siniakova on Court-1. Which unseeded star will progress to the Round of 16 on Monday?
Liudmila Samsonova earned hard-fought wins against Naomi Osaka and Jessica Pegula at the German capital, before dismissing Amanda Anisimova in straight sets. The 26-year-old is still searching for her first trophy of the season. She reached the final in Strasbourg, semifinals in Berlin and Adelaide, and quarterfinal at Indian Wells. Currently ranked No. 19 in the world, Samsonova will hope to break into the Top-10 with some deep runs in the upcoming events.
A former Top-30 player in singles, Katerina Siniakova beat top seed Ashlyn Krueger in qualifying en route to the main draw. The Czech veteran is World No. 1 in doubles – owning 10 Grand Slam titles and 2 Olympic gold medals. Her season-best outing involves a semifinal appearance at the WTA Winners Open. Siniakova will look to improve her 16-14 singles record in 2025, and take some momentum into Wimbledon.
The head-to-head record between Samsonova and Siniakova stands at 2-1 in favour of the Czech doubles sensation. Meanwhile, they are yet to face each other in 2025.

Although she did not drop a set en route to the main draw, Siniakova will be playing her third match in three days.
