LeBron James has had an incredible career, and it seems like every time he steps onto the court, he’s making history. The 39-year-old won championships earned All-Star selections, and broke records at a pace few others can match and he is not done yet.
Now, the Lakers’ legend is on the verge of breaking yet another major record. LeBron currently ranks second on the all-time list for career minutes played with 57,438 minutes. He needs to play 9 more minutes to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who holds the record with 57,446 minutes. LeBron could break the record in the Lakers’s next game against Sacramento Kings on Thursday.

After starting the season strong with a 10-4 record, the Lakers have hit a slump, losing eight of their last eleven games. The biggest concern during these losses has been that four of them were blowouts, with margins of at least 25 points.
LeBron, who missed the last few gamed due to a left sour foot returned against Grizzlies on Sunday, finishing with 18 points, 8 rebounds, and eight assists as Lakers secured a 116-110 victory on the road.

Anthony Davis was once against star for the team, contributing with 40 points, 16 rebounds, and two assists.
The Lakers will hope that LeBron’s historic milestone in coming days can inspire a turnaround in their season.
