Owed myself a second just to soak it all in: Klay Thompson

After the game, Klay stayed back on the court for a few moments, pumping his fist in the air, celebrating the win alone.

“I just wanted to take that moment for myself because I spent a lot of days in here especially when I couldn’t play… Just to take in the crowd. I just took that moment for myself because I worked so hard to get back to feeling like this. Feel like I owed myself a second just to soak it all in”, Thompson revealed in post-match press.

Thompson also shared that playing at Golden State this time around felt much easier, especially without the captain’s hats in the crowd which were handed out to fans as a tribute during his first return to Chase Center earlier this season.

The Mavericks will next host the Clippers on Thursday night.
