The Sixers acquired McCain with the 16th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. Before heading to Philadelphia, he averaged 14.3 points and 5.0 rebounds in 2023-24. Meanwhile, the rookie guard has improved this season, averaging 15.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 23 games.
The 76ers coach has given him eight starts this season, and his scoring average is the highest among those players who have played at least 20 games for the franchise. With McCain now set to be out for an extended period, the struggles for the Sixers are likely to grow further.
