The title fight for the 2025 Formula 1 season is already underway from the first race. Lando Norris and Max Verstappen are ready to put an end to their story from 2024. Norris, who won the first race of the season, finds himself ahead of Max Verstappen by merely one point in the first leg of the championship.

Norris and Verstappen have the ability to provide boundless entertainment to viewers during a title fight. Their Japanese Grand Prix skirmish out of the pits was only an example of the show about to come.

There is a vast difference between the cars of Norris and Verstappen this year. It is natural for the drivers to make remarks at each other’s machines, owing to the pace difference. Norris and Verstappen are no different. The 2024 F1 season was all about McLaren and Norris talking about Red Bull’s superiority. Whereas, the 2025 season has put forth the spotlight on McLaren and leading machinery.

Zak Brown and Christian Horner have been at odds for a long time. It was only a matter of few races before their drivers joined in. Before we dive into the allegations put forth by each of these drivers, lets have a look at the performance of their cars. McLaren is clearly a dominant force ahead of the pack. But, Norris is finding himself fighting the car for balance and stability during the race. The best example for this was his lacklustre performance in Shanghai.

Red Bull’s RB21 on the other hand is a underperforming tractor in 2025. Verstappen is either competing by using some extraterrestrial magic or his talent has far exceeded any other driver on the grid.

Max Verstappen “Wouldn’t be Seen” in a McLaren

Max Verstappen won at Japan in 2025. His first victory in the current season was nothing short of a miracle. The free practice sessions had made it clear that McLarens had the edge over others again. Max Verstappen took pole at the last moment during the qualifying session, while setting a new lap record.

His performance in Q3 was more than a fluke, but there was no guarantee that his pace would conquer the McLarens. Max Verstappen was starting ahead of the Papaya boys in Japan. However, a cooler environment during the race helped him build a stable lead over Norris. The rest is history, Super Max won a superb race at Japan to create a record of four consecutive wins in Suzuka.

But, McLaren’s performance has attaracted his attention towards the car. Lando Norris was completely helpless in Japan against Max. At the ending stage of the race, he had to fend off the pressure building from his own teammate in third place. However, according to Max Verstappen-

“I wouldn’t even want to think what would happen if I was in that other car…Then you wouldn’t even have seen me.”

Lando Norris Politely Invites Max Verstappen to “Test Their Car”

All are eyes are on Lando Norris, who turned into a lawnmower last weekend. Norris was asked about Verstappen’s comment on his car. It seems like the Briton did not like Verstappen’s confidence in his Papaya car. Norris immediately retorted claiming Verstappen would be tremendously disappointed if he actually drove their car. Norris went a step further to invite Max Verstappen to test their car (ahh… 2024 all over again). Lando Norris and Max Verstappen have pushed each other on and off track many times in the past.

As Formula 1 gears up for the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend, it will be interesting to see how the two drivers compete against each other. There is a very low chance that Verstappen’s Red Bull picks up enough pace to challenge McLaren. But, in a hot environment like Bahrain, the Dutchman can get better of his championship rival in tyre management.

If only Formula 1 would allow drivers to test each other’s car or compete in personal events, we would know for sure if Verstappen is merely confident or the McLaren is actually a rocketship.
