Karim Adeyemi Commits Future to Borussia Dortmund Amid Interest From Top Clubs

Last season, Adeyemi was instrumental for Dortmund as he featuring in 41 matches across all competitions, including the FIFA Club World Cup.

Karim Adeyemi has made the decision to stay at Borussia Dortmund, putting an end to speculation linking him with a move to several top European clubs. Despite strong links to Italian sides like Napoli, Juventus, and AC Milan, as well as Premier League clubs Chelsea and Newcastle, Adeyemi has opted to continue his journey at Signal Iduna Park.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 23-year-old winger is happy at the club, and no negotiations have taken place this summer regarding a potential transfer. His decision appears to have been heavily influenced by head coach Niko Kovac, under whom he has flourished lately.

Dortmund Considering New Deal for Adeyemi

Reports suggest Adeyemi is not just staying put, he’s also open to renewing his current contract, which runs until June 2027. While no formal offer for an extension has been tabled yet, initial conversations are underway. The player feels settled in Dortmund as he enjoys a strong relationship with manager Kovac.

Last season, Adeyemi was instrumental for Dortmund as he featuring in 41 matches across all competitions, including the FIFA Club World Cup. He contributed immensely with a tally of 12 goals and 11 assists. Equally effective across the front line, Adeyemi’s versatility has been crucial to Dortmund’s attacking dynamics.

In January transfer window, a move to Napoli seemed likely. However, Adeyemi’s stance shifted after Kovac’s arrival, and his role in the team has only grown stronger. With the departure of Jamie Bynoe-Gittens to Chelsea and an injury to Julien Duranville, Adeyemi is now even more vital to BVB’s plans.

With two years left before he enters his contract year in 2026, Dortmund will be eager to tie Adeyemi down to a new deal soon. At just 23, Karim Adeyemi remains one of the most exciting young forwards in European football and for now, his journey looks set to continue in yellow and black.
