Karen Khachanov and Felix Auger-Aliassime both have a great record in Germany specially in Halle.
The eight-seeded, Karen Khachanov will take on Felix Auger-Aliassime in the round of 16 of the 2025 ATP Terra Wortmann Open. Khachanov defeated Zizou Bergs in straight sets in his previous game, while Auger-Aliassime got better of Laslo Djere in a three-det triller to reach the next round.
Karen Khachanov made an impressive start to the ATP 500 competition with a straight-set victory over Zizou Bergs in the opening round. The Russian ace reached the third round of the Roland Garros after two five-setters. Khachanov boasts an impressive record at Halle with 10 out of 29 grass-court victories. He made it into the quarterfinals four times out of five. However, he couldn’t replicate last year’s form in 2025. Last year, the Russian ace won two ATP titles. He also reached the finals in Vienna where he lost to Jack Draper. Khachanov would now focus on this crucial matchup and eye a quarterfinal berth in Halle.

Felix Auger-Aliassime had a medical timeout due to a foot issue but still, secured a three-set victory in the opening round. The Canadian ace has some breakthrough performances this year. He reached the semifinals in Stuttgart last week and posted a 3-1 record on grass court. His German love affair continues as he reached the semifinals in Hamburg and Stuttgart. Now, he is just one win away to reach the quarterfinals. His best run at Halle was semifinals in 2021. The Canadian ace has reached the quarterfinals at every ATP grass tournament where he won the opening round.

Karen Khachanov has a strong baseline and he reflects his power on the grass through serve and forehand click. However, the season hasn’t been same for the Russian ace and he takes a tough task of beating Felix Auger-Aliassime, who overcame Khachanov in last two meetings. It will be their first meeting in three years and both players have improved their game. Auger-Aliassime is currently on a best run and won six matches in Germany since April. Fitness could be a reason for the Canadian ace as he took the medical timeout in last game.
Prediction: Khachanov in three sets.
The betting odds in this match are slightly in favor of Felix Auger-Aliassime, but even as the odds suggest, this match could go either way, especially since both of them have a great record in Halle. Here are the betting odds according to BetMGM:
