The New York Liberty bounced back strong with a gritty win after facing a couple of recent tough losses. They registered a huge win in a low scorer Liberty vs. Wings clash on Tuesday at the Barclays Centre.

The visitors started the Liberty vs. Wings game strongly with a tone setter 24-15. However, the Dallas Wings under Paige Bueckers’ leadership weren’t backing down easily. They reduced the deficit with a second quarter score of 20-13.

The Liberty clung to a narrow two-point lead heading into the start of the second half. The game again swung in a different direction, with New York extending their lead again by outscoring their opponents with 23-18 in the third quarter.

The Liberty vs. Wings game was far from over as the home side still had only a seven point deficit. While the Dallas Wings found some offensive rhythm, their defensive struggles continued to haunt them badly.

New York Liberty edged the Wings in the final quarter to clinch a hard-fought 85-76 victory. With the Atlanta Dream knocking for the second place, the Liberty extended their time on the second place for the time being.

Wings Struggle Despite Bueckers’ Brilliance

Paige Bueckers led the scoresheet in the Liberty vs. Wings game, scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. The rest of the Wings lineup failed to step up, costing them another close contest.

Jonquel Jones scored a double-double with 15 points, and 10 rebounds. Emma Meesseman and Stephanie Talbot each scored 13 points in the win.

New York Liberty head coach said, “When we move the ball, we always find great shots. It’s also when we settle early, we get into the rhythm. I thought we were quite unselfish when we moved the ball and Lao was back being aggressive. I really liked that.”

She added, “We had a lot of contributions from other people. It was great for Talbs to step up and have a big game for us. It’s nice, we have five other players in double figures. I think that is the beauty of this team.”
