Minnesota Lynx WNBA Trade Deadline Predictions and Rumors- Who can Lynx Add to the Roster to Boost Their Playoffs Push?

Garima Ranawat

Who will the Lynx add to their roster before the trade window closes?

The 2025 WNBA trade window is closing on Thursday, August 7, 3 pm ET, and teams have been actively swapping up their players. Even though the deadline isn’t as active as the NBA’s deadline historically, a few significant moves have been made, while the internet keeps buzzing with WNBA trade deadline rumors. Teams that aim to secure a playoff berth have been aggressively working on adding talent that would boost their chances to make it to the postseason.

The Minnesota Lynx, who are currently dominating the league with a 24-5 win-loss record, made a remarkable deal when they signed DiJonai Carrington from the Dallas Wings. The Lynx traded Diamond Miller, Karlie Samuelson, and a 2027 second-round pick to Dallas. Carrington spent four years with the Connecticut Sun before moving to the Wings during off-season. In 20 games, she dropped an average of 10.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game for the Wings.

While she wasn’t at her best with the Wings, the 27-year-old is expected to play in a more comfortable position with the Lynx. Playing her fifth WNBA season, Carrington would help the Lynx further cement themselves as the best defensive team.

Who Would Minnesota Lynx Target?

Talking further about the other WNBA trade deadline predictions and reports surrounding the Lynx, they might make a few moves even though they have the best offense and defense in the league right now. It is because they have struggled physically against teams such as the Indiana Fever and the Atlanta Dream.

Not only this, but they recently had their top scorer, Napheesa Collier, get injured. This would surely affect their frontcourt depth, and they would want to have someone to be dependent on. Several WNBA trade deadline rumors were doing rounds, suggesting that they could sign Arike Ogunbowale to further solidify their chances of claiming the title this year. However, by signing Carrington, it is clear that they might target someone else.
